Who, unlike the 'thousands' of others decided not to remain in the comfort zone of being a big fish in a manky pond, joined the A league, topped it, and beat Kildare over 2 games to EARN (and thats the big word here) their place in the league.
And anyway, what interest does a fella who wont even support his own junior team let alone local LOI club have with what happens in Galway?
Any news yet on where Mervue are going to play?
Looks like it will be terryland as the costs are to much at the moment to get Fahys Field up to standards, plus time to do the work is quickly running out
Welcome to The First Division!! Galway is a great city to go out in, always enjoy going down there!!!
Has Terryland been confirmed yet? Or are Mervue going to play at their own ground?
Can anyone please tell me is there an Irish Spelling for Mervue United (Merbhú Aontaithe?) What is the origin of the name Mervue?
Aon, dó, trí, bhí mé i mo luí, thit mé den leaba, he! he! he!
"Radharc na Mara" is the Irish for Mervue.
anyone know what prices Mervue are planning to charge?
Havin a weekend away is quite frankly, lettin ur team mates down!
€ 75 for the Season ticket...€ 5 admission then if you dont have a Season ticket
Thanks Patrick. From that answer then I think the name comes from the French/Latin basis Mer (sea) and Vue (view). I wasn't sure if it was that or an actual name of someone famous who lived in Galway. Interestingly enough there is a place in Athlone called Marine View and it also translates as Radharc na Mara.
Aon, dó, trí, bhí mé i mo luí, thit mé den leaba, he! he! he!
As per match posters, entry fee to the matches will be E10.
Ye could out number the home support !
I reckon there will be a sizable home crowd. The whole novelty factor. Also I reckon they will sell quite a few season tickets. Mervue is and has always been well funded by the local community.
On another note I saw in the Sentinel this week that Mervue are running a bus to the game from the Mervue clubhouse!! Is there any other club in the league that runs a bus to their home games?
