Limerick at home first. Could be a tough game.

Damn tough start. Limerick came on well the second half of last year and if they have the same team (which I'm not sure money has allowed), they'll be promotion candidates. We then have Fungus, Monaghan (knocked us out of the Cup), Harps (promotion?) and Shels (promotion) in the first six games.

Two trips to Fingal, Harps, Shels, Mervue and Athlone. Not too bad on the travel front. Keeps costs for the club down a bit, and sure we still get to Discover Ireland.

First League matches for the club at Ferrycarraig Park and Athlone Town Stadium.

And if Jackman Park,Limerick is underneath the Railway/Bus station then I don't remember a match there but that ground has been there a while and there's every chance a UCD team played there previously.

We played Mervue Utd. before in defence of our FAI Cup in 1985, I think the game was at Plessey factory.

The Senior side played at the Billy Morton Stadium versus shamrock rovers in the League.

For the employed among us, half days for the country Friday away games means a total of 3 days' holidays. Not too bad over the season.

As Ric Flair would say "To be the man, you gotta beat the man".

Thought Harps played on Saturdays last year. Have they changed? Lots of overnight away trips there. Will have to pick and choose what can be attended as the season progresses.

It's the one by the railway station, yeah. They were there before they moved to Pike Rovers ground for our last first division season. I don't know if they had a previous stint there.

Fridays last year too as far as I remember.

Speaking of Saturday games, Fungus at home (29 May) clashes directly with Ireland v Nigeria in Craven Cottage. Decent chance that'll be moved.

There's an Ireland friendly on a Friday evening? Sounds a bit odd.

English season is over, and TV wants something to fill a gap.

There's no English football on Friday nights though, which is why I thought it was a bit strange.

Ooh. I'm back for the 2nd round of the cup, if we stay in that long. Failing that, it's Athlone on my birthday, or Waterford at home for my first game this year.

Pineapple, could you edit that post to read "Belfield Bowl" instead of the institutional "UCD Bowl" please?
You can't spell failure without FAI
