    whats so unbelievable??

pretty reasonable step to take considering the change in circumstances - shouldnt this be in the financial facts and rumours thread?

Unbelieveable amount of money, and even more unbe;ieveable that Bohs took in over €3m in revenue last season...

look. Bohs have done nothing wrong this year. We have paid our players in full and on time each week. We submitted projections to the FAI which were accepted. Our circumstances have changed and our projections have changed in line with that, therefore cuts have had to be made for next season. I dont see anything hugely unreasonable in any of that.

It is no different to what has happened (mid season) at Sligo and Galway. Cork and Drogheda have encountered similar overspending and far worse problems than we have had this season. St. Pats have released 8 players since the end of the season. Derry are rumoured to be cutting their budget.

    Wise up for fcuks sake.

So deduct us ten points then!

We will be cutting our expenditure by roughly the same percentage that most other clubs will be. Its called living in the current financial situation. A lot of clubs will be cutting by a bigger percentage. I really think people should get over this Bohs bashing sh!t. No, actually, don't because its kind of funny. We'll just keep enjoying our second double in seven years while the rest of you whinge.

no, we didnt break the rules any more than any of the clubs i mentioned.

the fact is that the certified projections we made to,and accepted by, the FAI. That we probably did not make 3m in revenue is immaterial to the best of my knowledge. Though its still a grey area as it is the first season of the "salary cap". Its flawed, for sure, but i dont think we have anything to fear in THAT regard. Possibly other problems down the line, yes. But who knows for sure what is in store... i certainly dont.

For B&W to say we bought the league is pretty lazy. We were not the leagues biggest spenders by a long shot.

How will Fenlon manage on a more reasonable budget?

Going to be a competitive year next year for the league title.

i am hopeful that Fenlon will be okay next year in that he should have the same core group of players with 2 or 3 new faces.

competitive league next year? Definitely - think us, Pats, Sligo, Derry and Cork will be very close - should be fun!

If we have the group of players from 2008 season plus one or two others I'd agree we could compete. But with us due to go to a mixture of part time and full time next season, it's very unlikely we'll compete for the league title. All depends on what budget is decided on for next season I suppose, and if Cook accepts it.

No time is a good time to be in the sort of pickle we're in re the land deal, but in some respects, it's not the worst. Pat's apart, no one will be able to offer silly money to tempt our players away, and we can offer reduced contracts, but bigger bonuses for Euro wins. A few biggish earners will be off the payroll this year - Singh notably. Kalonas is gone, and Deegan will probably follow; unfortunately, Murphy may go too, but if he does we'll get real money for him, so we can stregthen from that.

And for the last time, we didn't buy the league - we finished 19 pts ahead of a team with a much bigger budget.

And why would we be entitled to a cut?

A budget cut like that would ,ironically, given the other clubs in freefall, move us from fourth highest player wage budget last season to second ( or third ) highest, next season.

Pity that we`ll have to offload 7 or 8 from the squad, but I`d reckon the remaining squad will be good enough to compete for the two major trophies at the end of next season......as long as we can hold on to Fenlon.
