Matthews backs Longford to stay up
Longford Town manager Alan Matthews is backing his FAI Cup heroes to retain their Premier Division status.
The midlanders made history when beating St Pats 2-0 in Sunday’s Cup decider at Lansdowne Road but are still haunted by the slight spectre of potential relegation.
However, Matthews knows his troops are good enough to knuckle back down and stay up.
