I had heard it was going to be about 150k but it's still a big reduction alright. That's the starting budget, there's always room to increase it slightly if fundraisers are going any way well. A good bit of change to the management committee for this year I believe so we'll see how that goes for them.

Choice of manager is going to be absolutely crucial for ye if that's the kind of budget you're going to be operating off.
There will be a lot of absolute dross around next year, finishing ahead of Athlone, Wexford, Cobh and Mervue could be achievable depending on the guy.
Even this early I think it's gonna be a real haves versus have nots division next year.
Apologies for the rant they are tired of me on the Limerick forum.![]()
rumour matthews gone from cork city caulfield to take over if he wants it
Don't think there's any bad blood remaining from anybody at the club as far as I know. But as said he won't be back here, we can't afford him and he doesn't fancy the First Division.

Yes and Lord knows he'd never want to endure that again! I have a feeling he suffered the injury that ultimately ended his career playing for us, I think I remember him saying that once. You being the Magnus Magnusson of these matters may know more Martinho!.

see in todays star that cousins has being confirmed as being in the race. see also that town have agreed a business sale the star reckons that we will get a bigger budget to buy players.. i dont think thats right i thought that sale of part of our land was to pay the taxman aint I right longfordian??
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?
Any idea when the decision will be made??
I heard the interviews are on Saturday?
I don't want Cousins near the job, TBH.
Yeah it was voted on at the AGM last year as far as I can recall or maybe it was an EGM I can't remember. The money from that sale has gone to the taxman already as far as I know, unless this is something different I haven't seen the report so don't really know what it's about. I hear Gareth Cronin has applied for the job too apparently. I'd expect an appointment next week, it was the same week Aaron Callaghan was apponted last year.
