PORTADOWN moved three points clear of the Premier Division this evening following their comfortable 3-0 victory over Institute at the Riverside Stadium.
Former Northern Ireland Under-21 international Richard Clarke gave them the lead after nine minutes with a well taken shot from distance. That was how it stayed until just after the hour when Vinny Arkins doubled their advantage with a header before Gary Hamilton completed the scoring towards the end from close range.
Larne moved into second spot with a 2-1 win over Cliftonville in what was a dress rehearsal for next month's CIS Insurance Cup final.
