How many Full Time Teams in Premier League 2009 ?

Derry,St Pat's & UCD are probably the only Team's not in financial trouble this season, what does next season hold for the 10 Team Premier League with most of the club's budget's been slashed ?

    We're staying full-time: 16 fulltime playing staff, I don't know about off-field staff.

This is from a supporters club meeting with new chairman tonight.

All sounds positive on this front anyway. We should be very competitive as regards wages next season, and no stupid stuff.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

That probably only because we sold McCourt, Sammon and have the highest season ticket sales in the League.

We have never been fully fulltime, we have always had non fulltimers. Squad will be cut, there will be a big cut in overnight stays etc next season.

I'll reserve judgement till I see which are the 16 full-timers we start the season with, but yeah, it's certainly promising.

i find this hard to comprehend. leaving creditors high and dry and then starting next year with a full time playing staff with a sanction that effectively made no difference to your club.

    Maybe i am missing something.

Clearly there has been good will extended on the part of the creditors to an extent (though the revenue challenged us, the judge dismissed their objections), based presumably on the fact that many of them are local businesses (print company, pubs, etc) who would like to see football continue in the county.

Creditors agreed to take 50% of all prize money proportionally to what they're owed until all debts have been repaid. Therefore, having a full-time squad increases the likelihood of prizemoney and everyone lived happily ever after....

I have an inkling as to what makes Pat's (sugar daddy) and UCD (subvention?) stable. What's Derry's secret?

No (for about the 75182th time) and paying transfer fees a year late. Derry aren't as sound as people think (although they are one of the five Premier teams to have paid their wages on time and in full throughout the season, I'm told. But then Cork paid their wages on time until the explosion).

have they been punished at all?

Maybe corks formula is the way forward for mid table teams.

I like cork city and the league of ireland needs them but think they have come out of this very lightly.

10 points deducted. Possibly more (Cork's confidence aside, there's nothing definite)

Losing Mooney. Losing some others in this off season (players like Gamble will get better contracts away from Cork now).

Losing face with creditors etc (I'd imagine a lot of Cork deals will be Cash up front now - don't underestimate this as a problem)

Loads of ways Cork have been punished

No. Simply not spending very much, as evidenced by our league position. I understand that we're running a loss this year regardless and will be cutting back spending next year along with everyone else.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Cork have been punished but Drogheda's punished has rendered Corks points deduction irrelevant.

In relation to Creditors the Creditors accepted the scheme of Arrangement by the new owners. They agreed to this in the hope that their debt or most of it will be retrieved at a later date. If they went to wind cork up then they may of got nothing at all or not even half of the scheme of arranement.

This is clearly your new hobby horse to while the hours away Stu...

Like every other club, City are by no means 'stable'. Every club in Ireland is within a wrong decision or two of going bang.

That said - you've been paid for Connor Sammon now, so stop gurning about it. Things aren't great with us - but considering we were able to magic-up £30,000 at the click of a finger suggests that things aren't quite as bad as you like to think either.

And you know full-well any comparison between Cork and ourselves is just stupid. They had a sugar daddy who was writing their cheques, so it was money they didn't have. We don't have asugar daddy, so if we're paying our wages on-time it's out of our own pockets.

As for the 'if you hadn't sold McCourt' stuff - if your granny had balls...
