    Maradona new Argentina Manager

    http://www.rte.ie/sport/soccer/2008/1029/argentina.html

looks like he is set to be appointed. In my opinion he is without doubt the greatest player to have ever played the game and I would love to see him do well as a manager but he doesnt exactly strike me as great management material, Does anyone at all think that this will go well for him and Argentina?
    Its really not that complicated!!!

...and what are they going to do in the not unlikely event he balls' it up big time? It'll be like Vatican FC sacking Jesus.

I get a bit of an impression he's really just window dressing though.

I hope they remember to bring a few cans of vapona. ...though she'll still probably make more substitutions than our Trap.

    I can see it now....................

Argentina 2-0 down to Brazil at half-time and Maradona rather than give an inspirational team talk instead goes around to every player and says "here take a sniff a that, this will really get ya going for the 2nd half!"

More like: ' Here you useless bunch of over paid tossers, I'm bringing myself on.'

    Final score Brazil 2-6 Argentina..

Carlsberg don't do half time Argentinian team talks, but if they did.............

I worry for Diego. If he balls it up, he could end up like Stan. The supporters Im sure will always love him anyway.

Well Stan was somewhat of a legend to us prior to him becoming our manager. Well maybe not legend material but "extremely respected" at least. Now look at him.
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.

That is incredibly unfair on the great man.

He never did anything "slightly" in his life.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

This is the most exciting appointment in management since Homer Jay took over from Flanders in the pee wee football team. 'Crespo your cut, Aguero cut, Lopez cut, Cambiasso your cut, Heinze, Riquleme, Gago cut, wooo look at all these cuts'!!!
