    Dolan in the Echo

"Kevin Murray was superb again in centre midfield"....

    Superb???
    Again???

To my mind, "Kevin Murray was in centre midfield again" is an appropriate remnder to fans that KM was actually on he pitch coz he does f*** all there. We continue to play with ten men. Think where we'd be with eleven.

    Dolan just loves the guy...
I have seen him play superbly in defence for the u-21s, but he has never played well at midfield.
I'd say we are stuck with him, cos in Dolans eyes he can do no wrong.
It is inexplicable that he is picked ahead of Benno.

Is weird with the Bennett things alrite. As for Murray he played alrite as centre-half in UCD after Derek was sent off but as a midfielder hasn't had the best of times when I saw him play there.

Hear hear .... he is brutal. I'd like to give him benifit of the doubt but in all fairness he aint doing himself any favours.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

"he made his debut a few weeks ago, but has yet to make his first appearance" is what I'd say about him. I haven't seen him play centre-half, but in midfield the guy is a passenger. he does try, and he runs his socks off but he doesn't seem to get near the action. I could understand if there was a major injury crisis, but benno is fit and raring to go

The Bennett thing is confusing alright. Since Derek arrived it seems Bennett has gone from first choice centre-half to the U21s. He didn't even come on when Derek was sent off in UCD. That's what I found the most confusing. Instead when City are fighting for a point, Dolan sends on a young fella.
I'm all for bringing in the younger players but there are better times and places.

agreed, KM just isn't at the races in midfield, Bennett has played there well for us in the past, should be an open and shut case, but Dolan seems to think otherwise.

I agree that Benno is a better option at centre of midfield but K. Murray is not as bad in there as some people are making out. Up at Drogs people were ignoring when ever he did something good but were there to pounce on any mistake he made.

Dolan sees something in him that makes him think he'll be a good midfielder, give him time to learn the trade. Since he's been playing in there we havnt lost a game. He gives us extra dimension in defending and attacking set pieces and has scored a good goal against Rovers too.
    Oh no not them again

I presume he does good work in defense as he certainly does very little attacking. Often harder to notice defensive work. I suppose Dolan must be trying to build up his confidence or something but knowing him he'll drop to the bench tonight.

K Murray is a defender so maybe that why city defending so deep when leading?
