No its grand we will tell our fans we are fooked, tell them we will be out of business in a few weeks, tell them to cough up a few hundred grand and we will be set then for the following season to offer silly money to players willing to play for half the amount.

Certainly. But you should be careful how you ask questions about your fanny club.
(If there is any queries about On/Off-Topic. The below post concerns the transfer, circumstances and treatment of staff.)

I'll only keep to the present structure of the club.

Collins joins November 04 2004, three weeks from the end of the season from fellow relegation candidates Dublin City.

Dublin City weren't too happy with. Shamrock Rovers were very happy and continued with Roddy and gave him a Two-year contract. Now by embedding someone like Roddy into the club, obvious serious questions of judgement needed to be asked. They went unasked 'cos Roddy gave the club what it desperatly needed, survival in the top division.

Survival still in major doubt the following season. The board doesn't have the courage of it's convictions ( Convictions for board member came the following year). Roddy is first suspended on full pay and then sacked after the club is relegated by Dermot Keely's Dublin City.

Of course the treatment of Collins is rightly considered unfair and he brings a case of unfair dismissal against the board.

I didn't mention the interim times when UCD's Alan O'Neill gave yourselves a dig out after Roddy left.
I believe people who have convictions against them for Public Order offences relating directly to League of Ireland football matches shouldn't sit on boards of League of Ireland football clubs.

As I said previously, it was wise of the board to go outside of Ireland.

    OMG UR RIGHT!!!!
Three years ago the old rovers board appointed Roddy Collins, who was dismissed after practically relegating the club by the new board. They replaced him with Pat Scully who over three season restored Rovers to the top flight at the first attempt, and working well with the board in a couple of very good cup runs and two highly accepable mid table finishes, before leaving on mutual consent after feeling things had run their course.

BUT OMG HOW WILL SHANROCK ROVRES EVA GET A NEW MANAGER NO1 WILL WORK FOR THEM COZ WAT HAPPENED 4 YRS AGO. LOL THEY HAD TO GO N POACH A HIGHLY RATED MANAGER FROM SCOTLAND. LOL!!!111!!

Oh and I'd love to hear more about the personal allegations about members of the Shamrock Rovers board. What are these Public Order offences of which you speak, and why is it you think they are unfit to run the club? very serious allegations they are.

Especially when most other neutral observers, and even fans of other clubs including Rovers biggest rivals, would consider SRFC to be one of the best run clubs since the current board have taken over. It would be very difficult to argue otherwise, but I do look forward to what you have to say!

Even as a Shels fan I think it's fairly ridiculous to talk about the previous Rover's regime and the current (more benevolent ) regime in the same breath.

No chance. He has just won our player of the year and wont be leaving anytime soon to another Irish club. Darren Quigley on the otherhand has been interesting Sean Connor going by our local newspaper last Tuesday.
