Is he not out of contract with Drogheda now? Anyway regardless of how many of his goals were penalties for shels the fact is he was a great player for us and is of premier division standard. It would be a good signing for Fingal but i hope its just a rumour.

Dundalk and Gill had serious problems attracting a striker last summer - but now that they are in the premier, they wont have any such problems - so for me its a serious surprise that Connor is looking at OBrien

He is approaching 30 and has had a lot more injuries than most

Just heard Darren Quigley rumoured to be signing for Dundalk from Derry....Derry/U.c.d fans....is he an improvement on Bennion if true??

Quigley is one of the best keepers around IMO.
I would have liked to see him at CCFC, if we were allowed to sign anyone that is.

I've not seen much of Bennion, but yes, Quigley is much better.

Only played a handful of games for us.

Very unlucky to get injured on the opening day (against UCD!) and didn't get a look in again given Ger Doherty's form.

Definitely a very good keeper, really unlucky to get injured and loose his place to a very inform Doherty. Couldnt get back in, anytime he got a game looked very good. up there in the top 3-4 keepers in the league from what ive seen with Derry and his days with UCD.
