Conor set to add two more to his squad

DUNDALK have been handed a massive boost ahead of their televised clash with Bohemians on Friday night after Sean Connor revealed that he has been given the green light from the club's board to add to his squad.
“To be fair, the board were superb at the meeting on Monday night,” he said.
“I'm sure we'll announce some signings before Friday but I can certainly bring in two more. It's nice knowing that I have players on the bench who can come on and influence a game. That is something I have wanted from day one,” he added.
Connor was remaining tight lipped about who he would bring in but former Linfield midfielder Paul McAreavey, goalkeeper Peter Cherrie and defender Michael McGowan - who all played in the friendly against Lisburn two weeks ago - are the obvious players in the frame. The manager is still hopeful of bringing in more bodies before the end of the transfer window although he conceded that players would probably have to leave for that to happen.
“I still would like to bring in three more. We've had a couple of inquiries about players going out on loan to free a bit of room in the squad so we will just wait and see what happens.”

You've got no fans.
Owen Morrison is supposed to have put in a transfer request while Sean Doherty and Brian Cash are supposed to be gone. None of this confirmed, only rumours for now.
Coleman for Ireland
What about - Owen Morrison switch with Liam Burns? Dundalk short on natural wingers, Sligo fans fawning for Burns
The well founded speculation that Dundalk are on the verge of signing defender Michael McGowan gives some credence to the possible availability of Burns (who has been revitalised in recent games against Derry and Cork)
What would Dundalk do with a winger? Connor would even be confused by that.
in our friendly last night against the longford district league team, Ray Scully played for us .Apparently he was in america. I assume that he was on trial. does anyone have any comment about him? there was a neil mccormack from sligo last nite who played( on trial) too who played for one of the sligo local sides..

hows that e13,000 a week budget looking for Dundalk these days? Connor is like Jesus - give him 13k a week and watch him turn it magically into 30k...
€12,500 was the stated weekly budget at the start of the season.
Since then O'Callaghan, Singh and Rogers have gone. In have come Rowe, Wlliams and now Cherrie (Collins was in the orginal budget).
Technical Jimmy Brown, now manager at Lisburn Distillery, also off wage bill.
Michael McGowan and Paul McAreavey are anticipated as further signings - overall very little change in the budget over the season.
Wage bill, while well within the 65% cap, is considerable compared to many in the league, but miniscule compared to Bohemians near €50k!

Shels have completed the signing of Franco Georgescu until the end of the season on amateur terms![]()
Guy Bates
absolutely fant bloddly tastic
I heard the news last night - over the moon. He had a big hand in bringing the league to us (on top of his winning goal against cork).
After we won the league I put money on him being th eleagues top goal scorer the following year (then Doolin dropped him). I have serious respect for his ability.
Always felt that Mathews would keep us up but this is a massive boost.
Staying up staying up staying up
And Brenden McGill has joined us - a decent player from the little I know about him.

McGill's a nice little player. He should do very well for you. Good signing.
