Nice one, I had no idea there was a sequel!

You can find the perfect blend Nigel.

They've been occasionally known to become good friends.
A Quiet Place (2018). Was on RTE 2 tonight. A sci-fi horror from John Krasinski. Probably the least amount of spoken dialogue I've ever seen in a film, but a fairly gripping watch from start to finish. Well worth a watch

Who is this Oppenheimer and why is his movie so long.
Mission Impossible ,Better than expected and a good bit of escapism, this series of films either does or doesn't do it for you and this one certainly doesn't let the franchise down.
8.5/10.
I'm kidding. I used to work with Dorothy Vanderford, nice person.
So who's seen Barbie? Can't wait.
Watched a couple of movies last night.
Uncut Gems - Adam Sandler puts in a good turn as a messed up, jeweller and gambling addict who is in trouble with the mafia and keeps making worse and worse decisions. It is a chaotic film, no quiet moments and at times made me feel uncomfortable with its intensity - but would recommend.
Baby Driver - good cast, great soundtrack and I’m a bit of a sucker for Edgar Wright movies (and Lily James). Feels like a play sometimes but a play with some brilliant car chase scenes and a good bit of violence. Yeah, I liked this a lot.
Having not been to the cinema in ages, I've recently gone to see Oppenheimer, Barbie and A Haunting in Venice.
A Haunting in Venice the weakest of the three, still entertaining enough, but I don't think you'd miss out on anything by watching it on TV. Probably a 6 or generous 7 out of 10.
I really enjoyed Barbie. It's maybe not as deeply profound as made out to be by some, but it's good fun and I thought it got the balance of having a message but still being funny about right. I'd watch it again and it was a 7.5 or so out of 10.
Oppenheimer didn't feel like over 3 hours long, which is maybe the biggest complement I could give it. Had more lighter moments than I expected, or maybe I've just got an odd sense of humour. It builds tension well and the timelines are not too disconcerting to follow. Downey Jr and Murphy are both excellent. It's a good 8 out of 10 and I'd say it's one that really benefits from being on the big screen.
Tallaght Stadium Regular
Very enjoyable considering how bad it could and probably should have been. I feared the worst but the concept was good for a movie about a toy. Watching Margot Robby is never dull.....ditto Ryan Reynolds tbf.....
Haven't seen Oppenheimer yet. Thanks for reviewing.

Indiana Jones and The Dial of destiny :Got a bit of a mauling by the Hacks but I thoroughly enjoyed it,I thought they were going to go mad with the de-ageing process but thank God they didn't and normality returned for the rest of the movie. 8/10
Barbie : I can't put into words how bad I found this, watched about 30 minutes and abandoned ship.Just over my head I suppose.
Meg 2 : Exactly as you would expect with a rerun of Part 1 with bells and whistles,if you like this kind of crash bang wallop you'll enjoy 6/10
The Popes Exorcist: Russell Crowe chews the scenery a bit in the title role but entertaining on the whole,I think partly shot in Ireland 6.5/10
Scottish Mussel (2015)
Just stuck it on Saturday night for something easy for me and the wife to watch. Decent cast really but absolute rubbish all round - story, script, acting, production. There was two scenes where you could actually see the big hairy boom mic come into view. It was hilariously bad. Talulah Riley does change into a bikini quite a lot in it though so it is not without its merits. 3/10 (2 for the bikinis and 1 for the unintended laughs!)

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.
While I'm here...
Mad Max: Furiosa - not a huge fan of the previous ones and the genre overall but this was brilliant. Really enjoyed it. Anya Taylor-Joy is a phenomenal actress.
A Quiet Place: Day One - another one i saw in the cinema. Typical fare if you've seen the other ones, I suppose, but also very enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.

Civil war - 1/10 absolutely dreadful. It had the bones of a decent idea but it was like a B movie.
