Bender's Game, the new Futurama movie, 4/5
so much better than the last one (Beast With A Billion Backs), about the same as the first (Bender's Big Score)
pity now that the next one will be the last Futurama

no, the TV series is just the four movies (Bender's Big Score, The Beast With A Billion Backs, Bender's Game and the last one Into The Wild Green Yonder) broken up into 16 half hour chunks

Bond and it was very average. A poor man's Jason Bourne.

The 'villain' was useless but at least Olga was hot. Casino Royale was a solid start to the rebooted franchise but Solace has tainted it.

Shawshank Redemption- Really enjoyed it, especially the ending. It was one of thise 'I can't belive you haven't seen it' movies so glad to have broken that duck. I thought it would be a lot more sentimental and syrupy than it actually was. One gripe though- why, oh why, did they have to show them meeting on the beach at the end? The film ended perfectly when Morgan Freeman's charcter left 'in hope.'

Unforgiven- Quite possibly, the finest film I've seen. Absolutely brilliant, especially since I've seen Clint in Fistful of Dollars and Few Dollars More recently where I didn't think he could act that well. Loved it, and intend to watch it again soon.

Factotum. Excellent movie starring Matt Dillon and Marisa Tomei. True story based on A Polish/American writer (Charles Buklowski) from Jersey City. Very funny movie as Dillon is fired from every horrible job he works (Pickle factory etc) as he tries to get published. A raving alco who spends a lot of time at the racetrack trying out his new"system". Made by Norwegians with no sign of Hollywood anywhere in this movie. A great start to the movie with Dillon stuck in an ice room having to use a cango hammer for minimum wage. Truely a combo of all the rotten jobs some of us have had to do from time to time.

Unforgiven is my favourite film. I saw it a few years back and thought it was great on its own merit - powerful and moving, but having seen Leone's westerns, it's a truely brilliant deconstruction of that genre.

how could you leave out Bukowski's main claim to fame? Alcoholic extraordinaire.
Watched Tropic Thunder, it was okay, but not as many laughs as I expected, based on reviews.

I thought it was pretty excellent. Great performances from Malkovich, Pitt, Clooney and the bird from Fargo. Not to mention the "What have we learned?" at the end.

Saw Choke yesterday. 6/10. It was good but didn't capture the depravity of the book. Tough one to adapt I'll admit.

Do you read much Bukowski? If so you haven't pick up Post Office, Women and Ham On Rye, if you like them he's got quite a few short stories as well, his poetry is also good.

    Movie was actually surprisingly good

Got that out last weekend. Turned it off after 45 mins. Worst movie I have seen in years. I expected better from Whalberg.
