A Waterford player who wanted some retribution for the red card clattered into Chris Bennion as the teams were coming off the pitch. Bennion was knocked into the physio, words were exchanged and then the physio headbutted him. Then all hell broke loose but most of the people involved were trying to seperate people. Any other version of events is a complete and utter lie.

Foot.ie! your good jc, il give u that

massive result for us, doubt there will be any points taken away, that would be just too much for some dundalk fans to handle.
speaking of which is it too early to award us the best fans in the 1st divison for the 5th year in a row??

You cant deduct teams points for off the ball incidents...the only sanctions allowed are heavy fines for both clubs, those players involved and suspensions handed to those players reported in the ref's after match report....aka the waterford physio!what a reject!!!

From what I hear it sounds like the FAI will hit Dundalk with a 60 point deduction purely for being Dundalk and will have to face Mervue in the playoff in turn saving Kildare from the drop, just because they're Dundalk of course, nothing to do with the incident

But whatever happened both clubs are responsible reguardless of what started it, both clubs acted irresponsibly

I hate to admit it but with the Wexford V Lim37, Waterford v Athlone and now Waterford V Dundalk games, we are starting to look like the chuffing GAA when it comes to discipline

#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

The Delaney is against Dundalk thing is getting a bit old lads. From the horses mouth "We want Dundalk to go up, their the only club in the First Division who are ready". He's not that bad lads.

If memory serves me right, someone from the Waterford backroom team was involved in an incident with a United player in Terryland 2 seasons ago as well. Not sure if it was the physio, and if it was, if it was the same person, but there was certainly some kind of handbag thrown in an incident missed by the officials
    "Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
    "Homer Simpson, smiling politely."
