    A game postponed

Why was the A game between Cobh and UCD postponed, does anyone know? Apparently the official reason was that the pitch was unplayable, but it wasn't raining or anything. Suspicions that Cobh couldn't field a team or that they owe back rent on the pitch and couldn't get use of it. Anyone know?

    Bullcrap!

    Mayfield Utd cancelled the game.
They told Cobh the pitch was unplayable. The powers that be at Cobh Ramblers spent the entire morning ringing around looking for a pitch in the area but to no avail.

Now i heard the fixture man was questioning the integrity of mayfield, not a good move, simple as mayfield rang cobh to call it off cobh had no part to play in the calling off of it, only when the heard it was called off, they rang the local clubs for use fo there pitches but to no avial

But sure there's plenty of pitches around. One of our officials was saying he'd have gotten a pitch without bother. Also, a couple of the lads were down at the pitch, not knowing that the game was off, and said it was clearly playable.

Your official would want to be some man if he can pitch a pitch on a weekend with fulll fixture list in all league from 6's to seniors in 2 hours notice.

Also Cobh Ramblers accomodated UCD in changing the match to a sunday, and mayfield will take it to the fai if they think ucd are questioning their integrity i know they said this to Mr.Duffy when they were talking to him yesterday.

Wasn't mentioned last night, and I very much doubt this happened. The official I was talking to was fairly annoyed at the cancellation.

Mayfield will take nothing to the FAI. Defensive talk like that just hints that our side of the story is correct, to be honest.

Will you ever go away and take a running jump. No one to talk to on your own forums so ye come on here talking sh*t trying to stir sumtin up. The match was called off simple as.

And you know that stuff that comes from the sky and wets ya- thats called rain.

And if you were down here yesterday and aLL week you would have known that we got/get a lot of it.

I was down yesterday. It didn't rain a drop. I know people who were at the pitch at kick off time. It wasn't a bog.

Interesting to see what happens with this match in the end.

ya i meant that rams acoomdated ucd in playing it on a saturday rather than a sunday, sunday was free for rams, but ucd wanted to save expences and brought the 2 teams down on 1 bus.

Honestly it **** all to do with cobh your problem is wit mayfield rams had a 14 man squad.
