There is another lad in Sligo that actually just missed out on an international cap anemed Johnny Kelly that should be looked at class act although i think he is just going 17 i think.
Read this on the back page of the weekender. It says he's currently playing for Belvedere, travels up on Saturday morning for training, plays on Sunday and comes back down on Sunday. He's in transition year in Summerhill.
Surely if Rovers are serious about promoting young talent, enquiries should be made about this fella? He could be brought into our A-Team and given a chance?

O'Mahoney trained with A team. Afaik, he doesn't want to join.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Yeah i used to play with barry when i was younger and he is very good.
Another good young prospect is conor "owl" griffen. He always stood out when i played against him as a youngster. He's playing center half for the u-20's atm(he used to play center mid). Who knows,we may even see him in the showgies before the end of the season.
As cookie said at one of the meetings last year,if we want to progress as a club we need to develop our youth system.

Owl for Ireland?
was at the schoolboy interpros last week end, connacht had a very good side (pretty sure only one sligo lad though), came second on goal difference to leinster. O'Mahoney was good but the player (Fallon) in the centre with him who is a sligo rovers player i think was excellent. think he is from mayo

I know Barry well sound young fella he comes to a few Rovers away game with me and my son.I would,nt be surprised to see him going across the pond.Plays in the center of midfield reads the game well good passer of the ball and strong as an ox!Not bad on a dead ball either!
with a recommendation like that he should be in the first team!
Is it true Barry made the irish squad?
Fair play he must be a good talent so
He was on the under 16 squad but didn't get a game against northern ireland.
