Athlone free on edge of mons box was pushed just wide by Kennedy to give a corner which Kennedy mopped up after some worrying moments in the box.

Athlone had a free which McGee took but was sent over the bar. Athlone seeming the more determined of the 2 sides with almost 5 mins of 2nd half gone.

Jinks booked for Athlone as Mons start to find their feet again. Very agressive game sees Mons player floored.
Mons playing some nice passing football but unable to break down Athlone's defence.
I'm sure Mons are well fit to handle themselves.
Clancy had a good chance for Mons but his header went over the bar.

Athlone came really close there but ball hit post and wide as ref blew whistle.
Mons free. Gartland took and ball came back out to him. Sent up to the corner where Brennan did well to withstand pressure from Athlone and win a free kick.
