CLASS!!! SO ye finally got some sponsorship now too? My nephews Jersey was blank but I got it at the first game of the year for him. I'm pretty sure 'the squealing pig' is at least partially responsible for his conception so it's better this way.

I dont think they advertise the pub on the kids jerseys.

That's a shame. I'm sure he's not the only one up in those parts whose very existence is owed to their wares.

The pig have been our sponsor for last 2 seasons but we dont put it on kids jersey unless the parents ask for it. My eldest son has it on his.

So any suggestions for the name of the mascot? Was running a competition but didnt get any good enough names in!

    I'm on it!

    Headtheball?
    Alan (Ball)?
Bobby Ball? (in homage partly to Bobby Browne, partly to the unfunny half of a ropey comedy double act)
With a number 8 on his back he could be The Magic 8 Ball. (Magic Mons and that)

But, get him sponsored by the Jammie Dodger factory over the wall and he could be The Dodger Ball!
(you can have that one free of charge and all! )

I'm trying really hard but can't resist the idea that his backstory - that is, how he came to be a man with a football for a head - can only involve an incredibly badly botched operation. Perhaps to rectify skin damage caused by burning.

Why not simply Bally. And in every program you can have a 'Where's Bally?' section for the kids. God I'm good.

went through the ball and stuck firmly there

Ha ha. When my kids were small I used to play a game with them where I would kinda tickle and poke them and it used to be called Pokémum!

And when introduced to the premier leaguers how did he communicate that he had no name? (Bearing in mind that mascots don't speak.) You see? It's just plain embarassing. Just call him Bally and have it be done with.

That's embarrassing. I'm sure he drinks heavily. And he's top heavy enough anyway.

I dunno, I'm warming to the name, as in if someone's into GAA they are often
called a GAA head etc ... now this mascot does exactly what it says on the tin,
he's a "football head" from Monaghan ... who happens to have a footy for a
    head too! Genuis.

Dunno if that was suppose to be the thinking behind it

There was a kid the year behind me in school who was universally known as "Football Head". My mate was in NY a couple of years ago (years after we left school), came back and said "Guess who I met - Football Head!" (at a gaa game indeed!)

EDIT: he was known as Football Head due to his very large, very round head (yes, kids are cruel), not because he was mad about football

Why not just have a squealing pig in honour of your sponsors?
