    FAI/Noel O'Reilly Tribute

Dunno if this was mentioned in another thread, please move/delete as
appropriate but it was great to have the minutes applause to celebrate the life
of Noel O'Reilly at last nights match.

Downside though ... whoever put the dates up on the big screen had him at 80 years old

I watched the match on TV and they went to Brian Kerr just as the applause was finishing and it was a very touching shot. He was obviously very moved by it and was wiping atear from his eye.

I was also moved by that shot of Kerr.

    Fitting tribute I thought also.

Would no-one else have preferred a minute's silence? As for the moron who put him at 80 years old, pathetic.

Pathetic for them to have the date wrong and also considering they changed the logo back in 2004, how come they had a picture of Noel wearing the old crest! He was working up to his death!

RIP Noel - he deserved more than that!

Minutes silences at Ireland games are brutal as invariably they get interupted
by stoopid ring tones and fail to get the respect of people who continue their
conversations about the golf and rugby.

The applause is far better IMHO as it shows a more passionate support from
those who are really care and also masks any other form of noise.

    Noel O Reilly

Would anyone have a link to the minutes applause? I missed it as I was out training so I think Noel will excuse me!

...How true. Also, a minutes applause works better because the thousands of gob****es who turn up late inevitably disrupt any minute silence.
