a massive catchment area with little interest in junior soccer i reckon.you could argue that caherdavin is the same but where are they?1B.also with all the people in shannon you would think they would have a top premier team.again they dont.you would think that a large catchment area would surely get you 15 players.i think it doesnt really matter going on the above examples

id agree fully with you on this one.
    1-paul dillon.2-niall nestor.3-bobby ryan.4-glen houlihan.5-alan morton
    6-tommy barrett.7-nollie collopy.8-mark hedderman.9-stephen walsh.
    10-brian buckley.11-alan barry.12-derek o neill.13- leonard o grady.

id say every above player is still under 30.pity not more of them stuck with the dines and gave junior a shot.i can only think it was down to bad facilities and not great management to keep them together.

so have i.didnt the lad get a hatrick against carrick afew years back?i saw that game and he tore them apart.ive seen them at least 4 times in the last 2 years since that game tho and have just felt he hasnt done a stroke.a pity cause the talent is there.reminds me of young hanrahan up in pike when having a good game.very similar style.for me though he needs a fresh start with a new team if he is to realise the potential he has, cause if he stays where he is he will not change attitude wise and will still tend to go missing in games.

Davey Wall, John Collopy, Derek Hannon, Keith McNicholas, Ger Barron, Eddie Wallace, Pa McGarry, Pa Mullins, Yellow Lyons, Lou Quigley, Darren Walsh, Conor Croke, Mike Carey, Johnny Carey, Peter Clarke, Aled Harkin, Christy O'Neill, Brian Collopy, Mark Nunan, the list goes on and on, you could easily pick a squad of 16 top players from the above that would come close to winning an FAI & MJC.

And Im sure ive left out numerous other players .......................

You could say that about at least half a dozen teams if not more, the fact of the matter is if a players any bit ambitious he'll gravitate towards the teams that are there at the end of a season competing for honours. Simple as. Club loyalty these days is a fickle fickle thing...

too many decent players spread between the teams in shannon which does not make a very strong team. some players even left shannon to play with good teams.
pity really as when shannon town had all the good youths/17's , they got to a youth fai semi. then park got the pick of the players a few years back and got to the junior fai 1/4....

good catchment area in shannon alright but the players do not want to play with the best team....

very sorry goals for fun completley going disagree with u, ther are the bones of 15 to 20 players spread out between the clubs in shannon, as already said, that would be up to standard of premier football in limerick and speakin from my own point of view those lads who would be good enough would jump at the opurtunity to play in premier with any club if they got a tap on the shoulder.
its not the the lads in shannon dont want to play for the best clubs its the oppurtunity was never given to them. shannon would be a great catch for any manager in premier to scout a few players through info and watchin pre season games, before any forms are out or signed

i think you are missing my point. these 15-20pllayers if they really wanted that would get together , sign with the top shannon team (highest division) and trya nd win something decent. unfortunately they are only content with playing in the lower leagues and enjoying the local tournaments against each other...
