I have just torn ligaments in my knee playing football and I am going to be needing a physio and I was wondering does anybody know any good physios in Dublin, preferably in the Dublin 3 or 5 area.
Thanks

You can rest easy as I wont be doing that for a while.
Anyway went to Pat Byrne who I believe was the St Pats physio and I found him to be great and going to be seeing him for a while now.

how did you injure yourself?
where did you tear the ligaments...
am playing football for years and rarely ever had an injury and played a mixed tournament in work and banged down on my heel and hasnt been the same since.....![]()
Tore my collateral ligament which is the one at the back of the knee connected to my hamstring. Other secondary damage down the calf and ankle too.
First injury in years and it was a total accident as it was a collision between myself and my goalkeeper (A St. Pats fan ha ha !!!)
Going to be a slow recovery but hopefully plenty of physio and then pool work and I will back playing after Christmas.

I think the same happened me one time. I tried to do that ball coming towards you and flick it round the other side of ya while there is a player behind ya....only I didnt take into account opposition could play. As I ran after him in a vain attempt to get the ball back I put my foot too far forward and stretched the back of my leg. Couldnt even bend it the next day. I had to wear strapping for a while but grand now.
My back got bad about three or four years ago and the place that was recommended to me was on the corner of the Drumcondra and Hollybank Road, opposite the TSB. I cannot remember what they're called but I have heard two or three people recommend them in the past. My problem was small enough a prob, but anyone who has back problems knows that getting it sorted is vital, and they did that.
That question was less stupid, though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.
Help me, Arthur Murphy, you're my only hope!

I think he has a clinic in Scribblestown which is a fair bit out from where we're both from, but well worth it.

Not that long ago I dislocated my SI joints during a match (stretchered off, neck brace, spinal board, the works ... very dramatic!!!). Unfortunately they didnt show up on x-rays so despite bring in a world of pain and being hardly able to move my legs, I was sent home and told to take 2 solphadine as there was nothing wrong with me.
Little or no movement from the waist downthe next day so went to physio who after about 5 minutes of looking at my back saw that some parts just wernt in the right place
I should really have a loyalty/frequent flyers card for the physio though. I spend more time in there than on the pitch![]()

Just got bad news today that I completely tore my anterior cruciate and partially tore my posterior cruciate. Long road ahead.

Do you need an operation?. The doctor here wouldnt let me get operated on and said it is able to heal on blood flow alone although it doesnt seem to be making the progress i wanted it to.

Have to meet the specialist in early November and will find out more then. Going to miss the football big time.
