Snapped up by a cybersquatter, eh? Gods, I hope it doesn't tarnish their image...

The club should have no problem registering CorkCityFC.ie should they want to return to the present day media of the Internet.
It would have been a nice if you told us the domain was going to be free in time for one of us to buy it Adam.

Not as easy as you think Barrys Tea, registering an IE domain name isn't like pulling COM rabbits from hats. I wanted to do it two years ago - in fact I encouraged the club to do so - but was unable to because of circumstances. The club should have no problem registering CorkCityFC.ie should they want to return to the present day media of the Internet.
I posted about both this and corkcityfc.net in the Announcements forum quite some time ago.It would have been a nice if you told us the domain was going to be free in time for one of us to buy it Adam.

If someone wanted to embarish the board would be a perfect opportunity to do it.....just a quick mail to the media.........
Would it be a good idea or not?
Oh but it is that easy Adam.Originally posted by Vetinari

Once you have the name of a company you can use that to register a .ie address.

*sigh*
Think for a second who you're talking to now Barry's Tea.
Read this and this and come back and tell me how easy it is.
It's easy for me, because I've been in the business a while now, and I know what's required and who to talk to. It's not easy for an organisation (constradiction in terms) like Cork City FC, from whom getting the necessary paperwork is akin to getting blood from a stone.
That's of course if they had the necessary paperwork. Which they don't.

Adam,
I wonder if it would be possible to introduce [sarcasm] tags?

That said though it is possible.
It's easier now than it was when UCD controlled it.
Failing that a variation of CorkCityFC.com could be used.
Cork-CityFC.com
Cork-CityFConline.com
CorkCityFConline.com
You get my meaning.

How about [stupidity] tags?
That would allow me to post all sorts of rubbish and reply in a way that it is obvious I don't have a clue what is going on and still maintain some shreds of dignity. I'm sure James thinks its just what I need![]()
[/humour]
Please note the lack of [sarcasim] tags although I'm sure some people might consider my usage of the [humour] tags illegal.
don't worry, they couldn't hit an elephant at this dis......

He will ignore offers below $550 USD
It anit worth $35 not to mention some robbing ******* looking for nearly 16 times that.
I would have bought it myself if I was aware that it was being let go but no American scumbag is going to make money off me to buy a new surf board.

Is there a joke anywhere about the club being full of tits?
Why exactly would I care? We don't develop the site anymore, and more importantly, we were left with two months owing on our contract. I have better things to spend my money on.Originally posted by scottyshedender
That was a fairly stupid thing to do, let Cork City FC.com go... Really lads, what were ya thinking, For the sake of $35 on networksolutions.com.......... that hard for cash at iewebs?
FYI, I buy domain names for a lot less than $35, and it still isn't worth the money. I drank it that weekend.
As a matter of interest though, I registered corkcityfc.org a couple months ago. I still have a few articles here I wrote around that time...

Nearly forgot...

Don't remind me.

It is possible, but not currently if the situation still stands the way it did when we parted company. Ask Joe the next time you meet him and he'll explain.
It's easier now than it was when UCD controlled it.
Only marginally, and it makes no difference to City's chances. And to be fair, at least the IEDR had a reason to be a bureacratic shambles of an organisation when it was controlled by UCD. Now they have no excuse. And dy'a know what? They're trying to have a part in dotEU. God help us...
