Is there much buzz down in Wexford for this game?
I fully understand the above sentiments. Derry have a full programme of games and bigger fish to fry. This is our 1st senior final and has really captured the imaginagtion.
Derry were allocated 200 seats in the covered stand, a full 520 seater behind the goal and an 800 seater along the touchline in addition to approx 200 standing tickets. The paper has it that 400 tickets have been returned and I have it directly from a long grey haired 'source' (who shall remain nameless) that it might end up twice that many.
Looking forward to meeting as many Derry fans as we can around the town. Wear the colours and we'll stop for a chat

I'm surprised we're bringing so many.
Lot of long away trips in the last while (Cork x2, Cobh) & now 6 odd hours to Wexford.
Should be a good occasion.
Richie Winter appointed to referee.
Any opinions?

We're going to keep our allocation to sell until Friday afternoon at 4.
Might be repeating what's already been said, but it's refreshing and inspiring to see the Youths qualify for and host this final. It's a fine reward to Mick Wallace for the effort he especially and others have put into the game in Wexford. A win would be unthinkable; let's just hope they don't get a roasting.
There are really only 10 types of person; those who can read binary and those who can't.
Sadly I tend to agree although you can see where they're coming from. We last lost a league cup game a couple of weeks before the European Championships of 2004, we've won the last three running, and the team standing in our way are second from bottom of the first division.
That said, Wexford will be so up for this, it will mean far more to them than it did to Bohs last season for example.
I hope you will have the pink jersey on sale, I want one!![]()
I think if we not concede an early goal the game will be competitive. Derry fans will be suprised, Wexford play a great passing football style and espeically with the classness of the pitch at Ferrycarraig should make for a good game. The problem with us is we lack an out and out goalscoring striker plus a bit dodgy from set plays and at times we are lacking some experience but we make up for that in honest and hard graft. The one thing Derry's players will know they are in a game come Sat nite.
Before I see the Derry City fan's on Sat nite, great credit to you guys who come all the way down. Hardcore support and you guys should be proud, great support according to some of the fans on your offal site. 1000 to 1200 expected down in the Sunny south-east for this tie.
I need one of the hoodies we have, guaranteed to be a cold nite on Saturday.

Forza Youths!
So how was I being "deluded" in that post?
I posted a link to youtube showing two games where we had 3,000 fans at!
No where did I say we would bring 3,000 to this game!
As for "(same bloke claimed that they could've got 15,000 to the UEFA Cup a few years ago too...)" Could you find a link to that post please?
If we had of been forced to move the P.S.G. game to say Windsor park I do think we would of brought well over the 12,000+ we also brought to Landsdown when we out numbered a certain Dublin club more than 3-1 in a cup final the same year!
Apoligy will be accepted whence given.
Thankyou and goodnight![]()
