Well that's it folks! Time to put the passports away, no chance of making Europe now, according to the "experts" on MNS, Cork have the whole thing sown up. Probably no point in going to the game on Friday seeing as Cork have such an easy game v Bohs.
Anyone got the price for us to beat Bray on Friday night.

Found that a bit strange alright....maybe they're betting on Bohs losing their Euro place.......

There's been very little talk of the UEFA rulling regarding clubs going into administration. Is this still not a major chance of us getting in via this route?

If Cork went in to administration yes, but they went in to examinership. The FAI has clarified that it's not the same thing and no 3 year ban applies to examinership.

Yes there is still a chance of this but would of been nicer if Raf scored in the dying minutes last Friday , we can get a result against Bray but not sure how motivated Bohs are going to be with the cup final around the corner. There is a fairly good chance we will get an "invite" to the setnata cup as the cup final losers are already in it as are the league cup winnners the alternatives to us would probably be Shels as first divsion winners or Shams as both Dublin based.

Isn't Administration the English term and Examinership is the term used in Ireland = the same meaning. I was fairly sure of this.

It is indeed. I know someone who works in this line of work and they confirmed that they were the same.

Also, for further confirmation these are quotes from the website of one of the larger accountancy practices in the country:

"...... has facilitated the restructuring of many businesses through examinership (Republic of Ireland) and administration (Northern Ireland and other parts of UK).

"Administrations are the equivalent of examinerships in the Republic of Ireland"

Does this mean the FAI have cleared nothing up, only confused the matter further or, are they siding with the "bigger club"?

The three year ban applies to clubs who come out of administration as a new identity, Cork aren't. This is what the FAI have come out and said.

One way or the other the FAI want the 'big' clubs representing the EL in europe - unfortunately big club in the EL means insolvent, overspending and rule breaching!!
