Not sure if this has been posted already but hypothetically speaking, if Bohs and Derry or Pats and Derry make FAI cup final, how will the european places pan out?
Another great result for us tonight.
Shams 2 - 2 Bray
Shams were 2 up aswell.
Their 2 games in hand over us are gone and have only picked up a point.

9 points from the next 3 games is definitely attainable and , we got 9 from the same 3 fixtures in the first round of games
No, there's only four European places. 1 in the CL for the league winners. 1 in the UEFA Cup for league runners-up, 1 in the UEFA Cup for third place and one in the UEFA Cup for the cup winner.
As it stands, Bohs are in the CL as league winners, Pats are in the UEFA Cup as league runners-up, Derry are in the UEFA Cup as third in the league. If one of those three wins the cup, the final UEFA Cup place will go to fourth in the league which is Drogs at the moment.
I'm not sure what happens if Galway finish runner-up in the Cup but there are only two possibilities: Galway get the place as cup runners-up, or fourth place in the league gets the place (Drogs, atm).
The Setanta Cup could be a lot different but, afaik, there'll be, at most, FIVE (if an el team wins it) places in the Setanta Cup. I don't know who the qualifiers would be. Officially it's an invitational tournament so they can change the qualification criteria as they please.

Did UEFA not say when they brought in the new UEFA Cup (whatever it's called) there a few weeks ago that cup runners up would no longer be able to take the spot in the competition?

Great set of results tonight from our point of view
Indeed.
Several stories floating around about Drogheda. One says they'll be relegated or just be eligible for a First Fivision license next season. Another, more appealing one, is that they will go into examinership and take a 10 point penalty. Then there is the notion of whether they'd be able to play in Europe next season. Fourth place could still be in sight if we win tomorrow night without even taking deductions or the like into the agenda. Drogs and Cork aren't in the best of form so we have a tremendous opportunity, if we win tomorrow. It would depend on Galway, losing in the semi-finals and losing to us! Will be an interesting few weeks!
A win tomorrow is vital. 1 point behind Cork and 4 behind Drogs if it happens.
Life without Rovers, it makes no sense...it's a heartache...nothing but a fools game. S.R.F.C.
Drogs granted examinershp. That'll hopefully see them get same punishment as Cork and move us up to 5th.

We need to get the points in the bag b4 concerning ourselves too much with other teams and placings!!!!
Although if the bohs property deal were to go south ....then there would be some commotion above us!
I am right in believing that the Setanta cup is still invitational??? and there your placing does not guarantee a berth in the competition?
Interesting developments off the field will be the only way we can get Europe this year I rekon. Shams must win first of all, then to evade a defeat in Cork and that will set us up for a grande Finale against Bray in a packed Showgrounds.
Can anyone enlighten me on the story with Drogs? Are they getting 10pts deduction?
Do you still think it has been a forgettable season as per your opening post in this thread inside man, because i for one have immensely enjoyed this year.
Drogs will be deducted points - no doubts(they still owe us half of fazs transfer fee and therefore have gained advantage from their immense wealth on the pitch).
