    Monday's Irish Examiner

I am not sure if many on here read the interview with Hendo this morning in the Examiner. I have to say that I was very saddened to read the article and more so to learn of how but he and the players feel at this difficult time.

There is certainly an air of gloom hanging around Cobh today concerning the future of Cobh Ramblers and I believe that it is in our hands now to save this club once and for all.

Many here have accused me of "stirring" when I lay blame at the feet of the Chairman, but seeing that he has denied an EGM requested by members to discuss the reasons behind the collapse of the Finance Committee, is just more proof, that the Chairman is out of touch and not willing to be upfront with the members.

There are many, I believe, that would be only too delighted to contribute financially to the club and others who would step up to the challange of trying to lead the club from the brink. But this can only happen if the Chairman and Committee stand aside now for the better of the Club.

It is time now to put the Club first ahead of any personal desires and egos.

Do the members want to change their club, its structures and ways of operations, or do they simply want a change of faces (Again)?

I as said in another thread on the same subject, real change means we all as members have to change the way we do things and how we have been empowering others to do them on our behalves.

So when people keep calling out the old tired slogans of 'Lets all work for the good of the club' lets get serious and admit that real change involves addressing the one thing that has consistantly failed the membership -the constitution!

But your consititution can only be changed at an agm or egm by all members voting and as you are aware you must put the changes to the commette for them to put it on the agenda and then put it to members for a vote. But remember time is not on your side. I do now know the time frame that the commettee must recieve the changes but most clubs would need the info atleast 4 weeks before the agm or egm, again there are rule all clubs must go by look your up and go by them. but again time is short on Cobh side

Similar comments from Hendo in the Evening Echo made me quite dispondent and frustrated with our clubs situation.

Hold on there, First the members have to agree/understand that the consititution is the problem and agree in principle to change it in Feb or sooner if the AGM comes before then.

If everyone consetrated on that instead of calling for the heads of people who are not going to vote themselves out of office, then we might get somewhere.
If the club collapses before then, maybe we wont have to worry about that -Or atleast we'll have the cop-on to have a totally new constitution before we begin again. If not, lets colectively make sure its on the agenda for the February AGM.
At last weeks members meeting - the one where most of you guys were missing, it was suggested that some legal people would begin looking at and revising the existing document!
