FAI: Premium ticket sales to benefit League

The eircom League of Ireland is set to benefit from the new home of Irish football after details of the FAI's 10-year Premium tickets were announced.

The Association has announced details of an incentive package that could see thousands of euro pumped into the eircom League of Ireland. Under the initiative, purchasers of a 10-year Premium ticket will be asked to nominate a club or league and the FAI will give 2.5% of the purchase price to the named destination.

Isn't there 10,000 seats on the go @ at least €12,000 a seat?

2.5% of that (if all are sold) is €3million

Or have I read this totally wrong?

According to this there seems to be 10,000 tickets alright, but it's the initial part of the fee that the 2.5% applies to. Those being €7000, €9000 and €12000.
That's still a lot of cash, even though it's not all going to the LOI by the looks of it - you can nominate a local league as well.

It looks to be about €2M, as I think the biggest chunk of the seats are those €7000 ones.

I believe it's nothing to do with the FAI Vantage, but any investment in sport in the UK is an eventual benefit to Derry City FC.

Under the initiative, purchasers of a 10-year Premium ticket will be asked to nominate a club or league
You may as well put the names of the clubs/leagues into a hat and get them to pick one. The type of people buying these tickets for those figures are exactly the types who have no clue about domestic football.

I suppose it's good though, some clubs will benefit from these people's money, even if the individuals themselves will never darken the door of said club.
