    Google Maps - Street View

Was playing around with Google Maps and went to the area where my parents have a house in Florida. Decided to use street view on their road and low and behold but isnt there a shot of my dad putting out the "trash"!

Couldnt believe it. Jesus that thing is good, you can clearly see it is him!

He can have his face blurred out if he feels the picture is an invasion of privacy. People have been caught coming out of houses of "ill repute", or cars parked on streets that aroused suspicion before

But surely the picture cant be that clear? You're not going to zoom in on Google Maps and think that can't be Mick down the road surely.. They dont zoom in that close on Longford... just as well really.

    Thumbs up

Street view is as the Americans would say awesome! Great for booking holidays as can get a visual check on the hotel & surrounding area as well as use for street directions.

There was a bit of a debate on local radio station 96fm a while back about this (for the record i dont listen to that station, i was in a shop ) and some woman on the phone was giving out because you could read a label on her wheelie bin. The presenter was asking her what the problem was with that and started arguing with her saying she was going too far. Funny stuff but you can see both of their points.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Yeah I was a bit freaked out at how close you can get but the writing on the letter boxes were not visible so I couldnt double check which house their friends live at!

A label on a wheelie bin?

I can zoom into 20m. I can count the cars in the pub car park and pick out the odd red one.

They haven't got to Ireland yet.

In fact, they don't even have proper aeriel views of much of Ireland outside the major cities yet.

The moral is, don't believe a word of a post that originates from Cork.

The photos/street view i wasn't aware of. The aerial views when initially started were very good for certain areas. There was loads of threads on this on PRoC website at the time.

They're getting better though. Kilkenny has got proper aerial shots now and Derry was done not too long ago as well.
We're not arrogant, we're just better.

Most of Europe isnt done with street view yet. Paris only has the area that the tour de France took place in as street view. My Aunts house in Holland can only be seen from the roof top but you can see where birds have shat on her tablecloth on her garden furniture!

According Google Earth Inishtrahull doesn't exist. It's just sea where it should be.
