    Uefa cup

Great result from the first game against the hosts

    Sarajevo 0 - 0 Galway Ladies

Played in 33 degrees of heat Galway played superbly!

The other game was also a draw between FC Zürich Frauen and WFC Universitet Vitebsk of Belarus

This campaign by Galway LFC is the best in seven years of European club participation. It took UCD ladies three years to acheive what Galway have done in one year and the result against Uni Vitebsk and Sarajevo are extraordinary as but sides are very experieced in Europe.

Vitebsk 18 games and firm favourites for the Group.

Sarajevo were hoping to tip the balance with hosting the Group, also very experieced in club competition.

FC Zurich Fraulein beat Galway LFC 2:0 in the decider

Does that mean Galway are out?

Whatever it means Galway should be very proud of their achievements, its incredible what they have done with such a youthful team and everyone in womens soccer in Ireland was behind them which is rare!!!

I agree congrats to the Galway team and all they acheived! It just goes to show what improvements are being made in Ireland in raising the standards of women's soccer in ireland. While i realise, it's still a work in progress it's great to see teams doing well.
Their preparation was second to none, and obviously their success in the Umbro cup in Manchester stood to them.

When do they play their senior cup tie v Benfica?

Well done to all involved in the team
