    Relegation

Far too lazy to look it up but does anyone have the final few games for the 4 teams involved? Looks to be very, very tight down there

If Harps lost all their games between now and the end, I'd say they'd still stay up.

    We have -

    Cork A
    Drogheda H
    Rovers A
    Cobh A
    Pat's A
    Galway H

I fear for UCD, I really do. If they couldn't beat us on Friday, when they were the ones who had so much more to play for, then they will be going down.

The difference I can see is that Harps have more about themselves up front than the rest of the bottom 4, and that just may be enough for them.

We'll need 3 wins from our last 7 games to stay up I'd say. We have 3 wins from our first 26 games so far. I don't see how we can manage it.

Have we more points than when Doolin left? That's all I care about at this stage.

May the relegation scrap actually turn out to be somewhat academic- could some clubs be relegated for off-field issues rather than finishing in the bottom three?

Some Cork fans still seem to fear relegation and Sligo seem to be saying that unless enough is raised they may not get a premier license for next year.

Yeah, and Cobh might go down that route too. Wouldn't like to bet on it if I was Galway or UCD either.

On the Cork thing, if they owe any wages they can't be issued a Premier division license

This is true. Not to mention outstanding transfer fees (isn't that a licence-denying item?) and the vague possibility of a complete Drogheda collapse. I'm pretty sure the bottom three managers will urge their teams on to tenth just in case.

Even outside owing players i.e. if we pay the bills, we can still end up relegated or having more points deducted based on what comes out during examinership.

I think most of us have been bracing ourselves for relegation one way or another(and happy to be around to get it tbh) so the relegation battle is still wide open.

Oh i realise that. I was just pointing out the most likely way you'd be relegated

If a club is relegated for off the field reasons, is it possible that maybe the team placed 2nd in FD might get promoted rather than team finishing 10th in Premier being allowed stay up?

But there was no Premier that year, don't forget. The next placed team in the IAG nonsense (Waterford) got "invited".

I think it's likely a Premier team would replace a Premier team, so to speak. If, say, Dundalk went broke before winning promotion, I'd say promoting second in the First Division would make more sense then. But it's the FAI we're talking about here.

Also, if licences are issued (or not) around February time, you'd almost not want to stay up if you've got yourself a First Division team.

Shels demotion led the way for Waterfords relegation to be recinded.

Apparently there was no Promotion/Relegation that year.

    Bray
    Harps
    -------
    Galway
    Ucd
    Cobh

To go down in that order I reckon.
30 points still the target I reckon, with a couple of clubs likely to go on a wee run.

Wonder what odds you'd get on all of the above staying up and ourselves, Drogs and Bohs not getting licenses next year and going down in their place

Fairly high if you're counting Cobh getting a licence!

    Then what would happen then.
Would the second placed First Division side go up?
    Highly unlikely

What if no teams get a license for next year? What happens then?
