Did a bit of googling and found this. Had to use the cache feature so it's possibly one of those threads that was taken down.
Tetsujin's link indicates it'l be a positive statement so here's hoping.
The rumour is that he's had a brain tumour removed. The clubs hopes to issue a "positive" statement though so it may all be speculative nonsense.
Returning to training in two weeks after minor head surgery according to Sky Sports.
Don Givens apparently recommended that he have a frontal lobotomy to cure his attitude problem.
Heard this guy on Off The Ball back in the summer of 2009. Seemed like a really nice guy, I hope everything works out for him.
Hope all is well with this lad. He has had a really difficult time with injuries after some really promising performances in Burnley's promotion year and the first few weeks in the premiership. Another player that came back too early from a knee injury and aggravagated it again. Didn't know anything about head injury but glad to hear that he is back training soon. He has overcome knocks before, like the time he wasn't selected for a scholarship in UCD but went on to get a move to Burnley.

Statement released: http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/p...291238,00.html
Burnley Football Club can confirm that Chris McCann recently underwent a head operation to remove excess fluid, following complaints of repeated migraines. The minor operation, involving one overnight stay in hospital, was successful and the Irish midfielder, 23, is now back to full health and expected to return to full training within two weeks.
Burnley Football Club manager, Mr Eddie Howe, said: "I wish Chris a very speedy recovery and I am pleased he is not far away now from returning to full training."

Read a few reports lately that Billy Clarke is in training at Blackpool as well, but because he isn't on the squad list will have to go on loan to get game time this season
McCann only taking part in non contact training , no one is allowed to tackle him yet.
Chris played came on as a substitute in a reserve game during the week. Fingers crossed

McCann's contract expires this summer, but according to this article he is set to be offered a new deal by the club: http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk...ered_new_deal/
Welcome back - on the score sheet today.
Great news for Mccann well done. The under 19 midfielder hendrick came on for derby in that game quality passer of a ball
Great to see Chris back playing first team football. Saw the goal and it was excellent.

Great news! About 2 or 3 years ago I thought McCann, O'Tool and Garvan were going to be the future of the Irish midfield. All being around 20-years-old and with more than a season of regular 1st team football at a decent level. It's looking very unlikely for the last two at the moment so hopefully Chris can make it.

McCann played again today and got through the whole match which is excellent news. He was guilty of a high tackle too which started a melee! Does anyone else think that McCann could be an option at left back? Granted he is a midfielder, but his height, tackling and mobility could easily be transferred to this problematic position. I would be interested in others' opinions.
