Nothing is wrong with having groups. Whats wrong is having seeding. Thats my pet hate. You need some really hard groups - thats just not happening at the moment. Get rid of seeding (all the way through the competition but especially the group stage) and it will transform the situation and competition.

Personally, I think it was a peno. The defender didn't get the ball (Gerrard did) and caught Gerrard in the back with his arm. I also didn't think any of the other handballs were penos as they were all accidental. The RTE Panel seems to think that a ball hitting a hand automatically means a peno
