    Glenavon website:

    Glenavon 2-1 Bray Wanderers (Friendly)

A goal in each half from Tony Grant earned Glenavon a 2-1 win over Eircom League side Bray Wanderers in today’s friendly at Mourneview Park. It was a very good work out for both sides and it gave an opportunity for Glenavon’s recent signings Brian Mallon and Davy Larmour to get some game time. Mallon replaced McCann for the second half with Paul Carvill moving to left wing and Larmour had a good half hour when he came on for Liggett.

Grant’s opening goal came in the 38th minute when he got his head to Scate’s long free kick just before Bray’s Australian ‘keeper O’Connor and glanced it into the bottom corner.

Bray equalized 12 minutes into the second half when substitute Dunphy tapped in from close range after slack defending allowed Ger Rowe to get to the bye line and slide over a low cross.

Grant scored the winner just six minutes later when he beat the offside trap and ran onto a through ball down the inside left channel and drove a low shot past O’Connor from just inside the box.

Glenavon: Robinson, Hudson (Kerr 71), Carvill, Dickson, Walsh, McCann (Trialist 46), McDonagh (Mallon 46), A Harper (Murray 56), Scates (McCain 71), Grant (McAdam 81), Liggett (Larmour 56)

Bray Wanderers: O’Connor (Kane 69), Pender, Cronin, Whelan (Duggan 59), Kenny (Coughlan 69), Kavanagh (Dunphy 48), Cawley, Robson, O’Keefe (Doherty 53), Rowe, Mulroy (Keogh 65).
