just a bit on the match last night referee was a total disgrace rockmount deserved the win but when your playing 14 men from the start its a joke.one or two rockmount players were a disgrace to football and the abuse from the supporters they should be very proud of themselves no wonder there going for 3 fai intermediates with officials like that, pike were totally screwed well in it until ref gave one of the harshest penalties ever seen then sent two pike players off also a 3rd player which he resinded only right call all evening.gave pike lots of frees towards the end to try make things right but on the night he was the only difference between the teams.best of look in the final if ye get the same ref ye will pick up the trophy.

    Are those grapes sour LB?

Christ, you lot were brutal once you went one down. Not seen the like of it for a long time. How many was it? 2 straight reds and about 6 yellows. Tells it's own story.

No point in going to a game if you are going to descend into that behaviour once going one behind, justified pen or not. There was still a half hour left to come back, no need for the elbows, off the ball muck etc..

Up til then it was quite close and interesting, Mount were always going to win it though in my opinion - Pike keeper kept it down to 3 could have been 8 without him. Way to much football for a well organised and game Pike set up. Last 30 mins let their club and Junior football down. I thought those days were gone to be honest.

Great to see Slatts back and Ross scoring. Both stood out for me.

Left back! I'm not sure what match you saw but that isn't the one which the rest of the people I'd say
I am a neutral & watch quite a few Munster Senior league games.
Firstly I have to say the pitch was poor, very bumpy & it a few weeks it will be worse with the grounds getting harder.
As for the match itself the first half was poor with only 3/4 good link up plays (all by Rockmount). The first half by the referee & one of the linesmen was a bit poor alright. Only the 1st 20 mins.
Calls went in favor of Rockmount here at about 60/40. Nothing which was effective though as most the decisions were out around the midfield.
Number 4 for Pike however in my opinion should have been sent off in the 1st half for persistent fouling(with one particular was a yellow) He was taken off early in the second half by his manager before being sent.
The penalty: was CERTAINLY PENO. Quite poor by the defender as the centre forward chested the ball away from goal & the defender came through the back of em. Poor defending. Every decision the ref made was question by the Pike defender no.6. Now the ref did not have the best 1st 15/20 mins of the 1st half as I said but controlled the game well after that. From Peno on Pike were poor. Lost their heads. A second goal followed 5/10 minutes later & it was well deserved good finish by the Rockmount no. 9. To be honest the only thing Pike brought to the game was good work rate & this went after the second.
Rockmount went 3 up after the defender tried clearing the ball unsuccessfully from the line ended up in the roof of the net. The Pike no 2 was next to go for firstly lashing out the Rockmount number 3 which should have been a straight red & for secondly been late on a tackle (when the whole knew he was going in to do em!!) He still argued how he could is beyond me. Maybe the Junior league in Limerick is like that but not the Senior one's. Rockmount had enough chances to make it 5/6.
Pike then got a consolation goal with about 6/7 mins remaining. Good goal from a set piece, in off the post!
Both sending off were spot on & there should have been more.
Best player for Pike was their No 10.(captain) he worked hard & just got on with it. No 6 wasn't bad either for all his complaining
Best Player for Rockmount was no. 3 no. 9, & the midfield player who came on at half time(not sure of his name, sorry)
You could tell Rockmount were on a different level. Not sure would they beat Waterford though

Same game as I saw Footballer, well put. Good to see a neutral opinion marry up with mine. Will put Razor to bed with his allegations of bias!! LOL.

Mount used the squad depth that we have, can get stronger again if we have to. We'd enjoy a shot at Waterford if they get there, especially if it is not around the time of the Intermediate semi final. We owe them for cheating us out of a senior cup last 8 a few years back.

So what was the score? 3-1?
left backs report sounds like a Clifford one only more biased, very sad that they lost the head and couldn't play ball after going behind

You can't beat the old codgers behind the top goal, nothing gives me greater pleasure that going up there and annoying them. (Although i was nearly lynched during a 5-1 Avondale win a few years back)

3-1 indeed, Ross got 2 (1 pen), then Pat Keane (I think, hard to tell with the cut over his eye from the elbows!) had a header that was going in, but helped over the line by a defender, prob an og, but I'd give it to the Boss.

Hoey I think was 3 - Ross O callaghan was 9 - Kinger came on at ht so I assume it's him, he was superb.

slatts, byrnsie, pat k, monty 3 cb's with ken hoey and colin o shea wing backs. Midfield 3 of gaz, alan kearney, aidan o mahony, ross and gary leahy up top.

    M.S.C. Semi - Final

I don't know whether it's been said on here before, but the Semi - Finals of the M.S.C. have to be played by the end of next week. Now we are supposed to play away to Clonmel in the Semi - Finals, but we also have to play Athlone in the First Division next Sunday.

Does anyone know, if the Clonmel .V. Blues tie has been re - fixed.

    Any details grately appreciated.

From what I remember he said they are playing in their league or in some cup competition next week, and ourselves (Waterford United) and Clonmel are both not available at weekends, so it will obviously be mid - week sometime. He said it will be sometime after the 20th of April.

Nope, Waterford 2 up at half time. Mount pen early second half followed by a lot of possession and some good saves by Waterford keeper.

Not my thoughts, but think it's accurate enough.
