Was anybody there???
I heard Brendie Hughes had the audacity to turn up for the game after refusing to line out on saturday in kildare just so he could sit on the bench for Wolfe Tones in some gaa game.At times like this we need all the help we can get, both on and off the pitch, and this kind of 'support' is totally unacceptable. Bad form also out of Eoin Keating...I expected more from him, and hope they get the necessary ribbing from the other dedicated members of the squad.

Joe:
If this source is your usual source (and don't worry we all have found out who he is) it is more of his negative cr@p. I was at the match. There were at least 2,000 to 2,500 there. Argument settled as far as I am concerned.

What was all that stuff last week about not darkening their door and calling for us all to refuse to buy tickets? Don't tell me you sold out for Linda Block!![]()

after the match due to work commitments and just saw what i expected...a bunch of slappers waiting to jump on the dream team. Pity though cos from what i was told Fini was mobbed by the kidsyea id say a few thousand and i saw a picture in the Leader last night of a sideline situation with our commercial manager smiling. hope he got that 30,000 cheque
role on sligo is anyone going?
mmmmm....you're pretty wide of the mark on this one. I said in my post that I had spoken to one of the organisers, and thats what I did. I do not make things up for the sake of controversy, or this board. The organiser in question told me that he was disappointed under the circumstances and if you'd like to speak to him personally to verify this, then I'll gladly pm you his details. You obviously have problems in assessing crowd numbers at games, because I doubt the organisers are talking the crowd down.Originally posted by deise deserter

Don't worry Pat. As a teacher I am well able to count.
(Definitely better than someone who wasn't there anyway...)

Organiser counts money, Deise....doesn't!!!
No wonder teachers are always looking for more money...they obviously can't count what they have in front of them![]()

does anyone know how much money was raised through ticket sales.
I heard they were expecting 11,000 and whatever the attendance was it was'nt anywhere near that figure by the sound of things.
11,000? Wouldn't like to be in the Pike with 10,999 others. Talk about a tight squeeze. No way would 11,000 fit in there.Originally posted by maineman

And did they have security arranged (and parking) for 11,000? If they did I doubt they made any money at all.

That explains a lot. Sincere apologies to maineman.
Since I live in Cork I have heard no publicity for this and no one here mentioned Thomond Park so I just assumed...
And we all know what assume does. Makes an a ss out u and me. Well, just me this time.
Still means though that they could hardly have made any money unless all servcies were provided free. And maybe they were. I hope they made a lto of cash by the way.

That's a good quote you pulled from a popular line of novels. Who can name them? (I can just see SLK visiting the search engine rapidly!!)
Joesoap:
Your inane posts are a little boring at this stage. You have an absolute cheek to post here giving out about others when you lie about turning up to matches. You're pathetic - grow up "ticketmaster".

I've as much right as you or anybody else to post here, and will continue to do so. I'm personally delighted that I bother you so much, and will continue to do so as much as possible.
Whether or not I go to games is my business, none of yours, and I will comment on them as I see fit. However, to clarify, I don't comment generally about games on this forum, rarely have in fact, and never blow my hole about going to them, whether I've been or not. I'm the first to admit that I've not been to very many this season, but so what??
It was pointed out to me in pm's from other regular posters when I started to post here first, that you were a bit of an idiot, and one generally not to be paid too much attention to:...now I'm beginning to see why. I'm not going to bring this up in this forum again, its not the place for it. But if you wish, I'lll happily pm you my mobile number or we can meet up in person to sort out any grievances you have. I'm just sorry to see that my lack of attendance at games seems to bother you so much.![]()

I will take this with a grain of salt Joe - don't worry. And if you REALLY don't want to pay attention to me, there is an "Ignore List" option on the site. Personally I won't be adding you to it because a bit of drama is always fun!!you were a bit of an idiot, and one generally not to be paid too much attention to:...now I'm beginning to see why.
