Question u-20 WC threat to City

With Kearney & Doyle in contention for squad places for the WC in November the city first team could be missing a couple of key players for the end of the season.

this would be typical fai having league games the same time as irish international games.don't worry dodge, you and the other dublin teams will probably have your games changed to suit ye.

Surely ye're under-9 players would be good enough to play in the U20 wc?
Sure ye can always use one of the Under-8's as a replacment anyway!

In fairness, the league schedule was set before the U20 World Cup was cancelled due to the war in Iraq. The U20 finals were then rescheduled to November...

Best I can come up with, Dodge. I'd say the games are mid to late November...

    FIFA

The new match schedule for the FIFA World Youth Championship UAE 2003 is now available. The tournament, which was postponed in March due to the threat of war in the Persian Gulf region, will now take place from 27 November – 19 December...

    Ireland Matches

    29.11.03 17:45 Al Ain KSA - IRL
    02.12.03 17:45 Al Ain CIV - IRL
    05.12.03 20:30 Al Ain IRL - MEX

Last eL match weekend is 28-30 November so not likely to affect any eL team too much afterall.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.
