New Signing Confirmed

03 September 2008
As anticipated Ian McCall has managed to add to his squad adding Northern Irish midfielder Chris Turner to his squad.

Twenty-one year old Turner, who can also play at right back, began his career with Derby County before moving to FAI outfit Sligo Rovers in December 2005. Turner settled in well at Sligo and in his first season helped them to 5th position in the Premier Division and to the semi-final of the FAI Cup.

When Turner’s manager at Sligo, Sean Connor, took over the reigns at Bohemians he was keen to take Turner with him and sure enough he became a Bohemians player in July 2007. It wasn’t, however, a happy stay at Bohemians and in July this year Chris negotiated his release from his contract with Bohemians.

There was talk of a return to Sligo and interest from clubs in England but most recently Chris had been on trial with Rangers.

Chris, who has been capped at both under 19 and under 21 level for Northern Ireland, has signed a deal that will see him remain at Firhill until May 14th 2009.
