It's official, City are the best supported team in Europe

Yes believe it or not it's true.
I've worked it out and the facts don't lie.

At the outset I want to appologise to any Dubs who may be reading this as you are now entering a zone that will require an IQ of more than 24 to comprehend exactly what is being said.........however I will summarise at the end for you.

    Here goes......

......The average attendance in the premiership last Saturday was 33,389 - fact.
...... The average home gate @ the Cross is 5,000 - fact ( ish ).
...... The population of England is 52,000,000 - fact ( I counted them myself ).
...... The population of Ireland is 3,500,00 ( fact 'cos Bertie says so ).
...... Therefore, the percentage of people in England, per head of population, attending Premiership matches last Saturday was 0.0006%
...... The percentage of people in Ireland, per head of population, attending City games is 0.0014%

    OK Dubs, here's the summary.......

.........therefore, 2.3% more people ( per head of population ) attend City matches than any of the Sky Premiership Teams.

    CITY 'TILL I DIE.

It almost makes me want to learn to count. It's not statistically significant but the population at the last census was over 3.9 m! Can you do the figures for the population of Cork and report back to us?

Exactly. So this misleading use of numbers would be perfect for them.

Greater Cork area currently has a population of 180,000. City + County about 430,000. If that's any help to ya.

Have to disagree, our lowest league home crowd this season is about 3,000 so how can that be our average. More 4,500 IMO.

if there are 25000 in longford and the home game has 2000, thats 8% of total population ???? not bad eh
Ignore Max Power, he is no more, the future is Ron Burgundy. I'd love to be Ron Burgundy but they won't let me........

Celtic play in front of 60,000 at home games and Scotland only has a population of 5 million.,,,kind of takes the wind out of your sails big style.,,come to think of it I read somewhere that the Celtic support are 90% Irish or of Irish descent so forget the 5 million and do the maths with 3.5 Million,,,,as you say Berties figure and he's a Celtic man too!

Thanks Corner.......how about you and I taking up the job share option @ work together......

Congratulations must go to the guy from Offaly ........ the first person to recieve a PC in that county......hope it goes well for you mate.

A couple of other points to note in relation to my stats....

.....re Celtic - rule 2A Sec. 4 states "there must be more that 8 teams in the league" thus ruling out both Celtic & Rangers as there are only 2 in the SPL.

......re Italy and Serie A - As Andy Gray claims the Priemiership is the biggest League in Europe ( and we all know he is right ) I took England as being the benchmark.

...... re Irelands population - Counties Roscommon, Mayo & Offaly were not included as nobody there was able to fill out the census correctly ( anyone seen the film "Deliverance"? ) - this may explain the difference between my figure and the higher number quoted earlier by Applock.

Remember "statistics can't lie...and the more complicated you make them the less likely someone will verify them"......

    .......just ask Bertie!

    Queenstown are English .....aren't they?

I should have included them in the Premiership figures...!

By the way I didn't think they played football. It certainly doesn't resemble any type of football I've ever seen before.
