Any idea how long this process will take. Come two weeks we will have players on holidays and out of contract. This game if it is to go ahead will also take time to organise etc so it will be interesting to see how they get all this done by the weekend.

Will these muppets ever resign en masse and leave Irish football in the hands of someone with an iota of intelligence?
Surely there's someone, somewhere, involved in the game who isn't an idiot?

I would imagine since Shelbourne were so keen to have all league matches played by the 17th Nov, and couldn't possibly allow the thought of Derrys fixture pile up carrying on past the official end of season, then if it is to be replayed, it will have to be played in the next 13 days.... in the interests of fair play of course.

I know I've a load of Rovers mates and I know people will go "Oh, Nighthoop's off on one again" but it strikes me that of all the clubs in the League, the Rovers board seem more concerned with principles than anyone else - Pats' board included. Everyone else seems to act on the basis of a mixture of what's expedient for THEIR club mixed with a fear of getting Delaney's back up, the homeless lot are the most vocal about simply doing what's right full stop.

I'm with Gareth (shock horror - Pats fan and Shels fan unite) - Rovers board to run the League.

If there's 12 days left in the league season, you need to officially notify a club 14 days b4 a game and you've already sent out a press release to clubs saying the last game is Friday 17th Nov @ 7:45.
How do you play any potential replay? Players have booked their hols etc..

In all that sarcasm you might actually be on to something. If they can run a club and make them succesful what odds a league that is self capitulating?

I think the reason Rovers fans are so vociferous on this is that they've figured out that having half arsed people in charge of anything can only be changed by taking it by the scruff of the neck. AFace is a fine advocate of the do not say approach too, not seen his opinion on this though.
I'd rather die laughing than trying!

With the dangers of a group hug imminent, I have to say I agree with Nightdub. They seem to display common sense too, which in my book is lacking in bucket loads around the league.

There's a simple reason why Rovers board behave as they do. Namely because their club has been closest to the brink and they have spent a period of time clinging to the edge and narrowly avoided falling into the black hole.

Therefore its in the front of their mind what can go wrong when you let eeijits, incompetents and moneygrabber run things as happened to their own club.

I've no idea if this pragmatism and conviction to do things right will continue as their travails fade into memory, but historically the League has been dominated by short-termist me feiners which simply leads to a boom-bust cycle with no purpose, common growth agenda or direction.
