Hope you can get the best out of him. It didn't seem like he was cut out for us when he was here but he did show some flashes as to why he was so highly-rated.

Then again he was 17 or 18 at the time.

Jesus I'm still buzzing after that!

We had a shaky first half, nerves I'd say, and were on the back foot for the majority. Mons looked stronger on the ball and were getting it out wide and causing us problems. I cant really remember the build up to their first goal but the finish was powerful. Our defending was a bit sloppy for their second, looked as if our heads had dropped a bit. We did make a few chances quite late on in the first but the finishing boots hadn't been polished.

We came out of the traps like Richard Hammond strapped to a rocket car in the second, looked really composed and the passing was crisper. Won a free just outside the box, Conor Sinnot stepped up and smashed the dead ball into the back of the net.
I honestly can't remember what happened for the second as I was still in a euphoric haze. 2 - 2

Mons woke up a little and caused problems down our left hand side but the defending was resolute and we broke well a couple of times. Neither side could find a winner and a draw was a fair result overall I'd say.

I'm useless at judging crowds but at a rough guess I'd say there were about 200 people at the game, maybe 60 Wexfordians although I'm very open to correction on that.

The future is bright, the future is black and white (well, white trim)

The attendance was 309. Think u r right bout 60 from Wexford. You did well, fair play. Disgusted that our lads lay down like that in the 2nd half tho coz if they had showed up at all I think it would have been a very different story.

Shame on you for not comin up to say hello to me btw! I wanted to meet some wexford heads!

Best of luck for the rest of the season. See you again in May!

309, told ya I was hopeless at judging crowds

Sorry for not sayin hello, I'm a shy chappie. Nearly did after the game in the club house but you looked well busy. I was the chap in the long black coat, stood at the wall half way between the dugout and the goal where the four goals went in.

Did I win the tickets to Croker? I missed the draw!

Impressive second half performance, deserved the draw alright. Average age on the pitch must have been 12, Monaghan seemed to have a young enough team aswell.

Anyone try those Mondogs???? Looked a big dodgy to me!!!

What a cracker! Was at a wedding in the midlands and a mate of mine is a jouno. Spent the entire night trying to blag a press pass for the EL games. Think I might have one Seriously though, that result will give everyone involved such a boost.

Good result! Raging I couldn't go but was on the phone to my brother every 5 mins or so. I nearly died when he said it was 2-2......i didn't even know we had pulled 1 back!

    Foot.ie!

was talking to some lads that were there, said it was a good display! should be a great crowd next Sunday, hope they can keep it going! great to check the scores and see a wexford team on teletext! media coverage was very poor though no real reports!

TBH was very busy....didnt get to relax until almost midnight!

No a Matt Stafford won the tickets (yes a wexford man!)

As for the mondogs, am a veggie so have never had one but by all accounts they are delicious and they came 2nd on the best food at an eL ground a year or so ago.

If our lads learned from their mistake (and looking at their faces after the wexford game they did) it will be a lot harder for teams to take points from us.

Have to say Aertel has never been so exciting. I was watching the Bohs v Drogs game, and jumped out of the seat when the score on text was suddenly 2-2.

Really sorry I didn't make it to the game. No amount of pleading can convince the lady that a cold Friday night in Monaghan is a good way to start the weekend! Can't wait to go to the home game against Cobh, will probably try drag all the family out.

Coming from 2 goals down to earn a point in their first ever senior competitive game is something to celebrate no matter the opposition.

Aertel last friday was a complete nightmare. The goals weren't updated as they went in. I was tearin me hair out!!

An absolutely brilliant result for the lads. Very proud of them. I heard that Dolan's teamtalk at half time really stirred them up for the second half.

Can't wait for Cobh on Sunday, it should draw a fair size crowd
