The away fans number is a poor guess anyway considering two buses went to the game from Waterford not counting the fans that’s drove. The number was probably 100ish

Awful numbers in Limerick for what was a massive game. Terrible reflection on Limerick as a whole

Really good crowd in Dalymount, I was a few minutes late and went into the Jodi, walked down to the Pats fans at the end of the stand and it was full the whole way down, good Pats crowd in the Des Kelly as well.

Not sure how long that'll last for Bohs if they keep putting in performances like they did on Friday though
    Here on a technicality.

Bohs first half performance was fine. Moved the ball well, created some half-chances and generally were the better team. Second half was shocking though. Thought Garvan was a passenger throughout. Very disappointed.

If you read my post correctly, you'd have seen it referred primarily to previous "bad experiences" there, plus another post match just last Friday.
I did add standing in the open in the rain, but that wasn't the main point.
City fans - perhaps others, I don't know - have been the targets of missile-throwing on several occasions now: this is the main reason our fans won't travel.
But feel free to ignore that and lament the small Cork crowd.

No one in Dundalk laments the tiny away support. Perhaps, if there were more Cork fans there, your team wouldn't find the ground so "hostile".

We have a very mixed crowd wherever we travel, women and children as well.
Too many times that terrace has been an unsafe place for our fans. Having more of City fans there won't make it any safer - you're in the open, confined and sitting ducks.
These are the reasons City fans are travelling in fewer and fewer numbers to Oriel. Yet another incident last Friday, a dangerous one.
But, yeah, big up "hostility". Caulfield made some throw-away comments afterwards, referencing hostility. Anyone who pays any attention to what JC says in press conferences needs to go and buy some salt as a matter of urgency.
Your club should attend to public safety first and foremost.
This is all aside from it being unsuitable in the basics in this day and age. But let's not muddy the waters with that.
The issue - for City fans at least - is safety.

I agree with you that the safety of supporters visiting is paramount.

To be fair, the club have been quick off the mark to launch an investigation and commit to appropriate action against any offending fan who is identified in relation to the reported incident. They have also acknowledged the importance of ensuring that it is a safe environment for fans and visitors.

That aside, it is well acknowledged that the facilities for visiting supporters are inadequate - hopefully there will be some basic improvements in the short term. But please don't expect any tears to be shed over Cork fans deciding not to come and support their team. If that leaves Caulfield and his team feeling greater isolation and hostility, so be it.

I also agree with your point about Caulfield regularly making ridiculous comments that should not be taken too seriously - they are far less important, but much more entertaining.

I can only imagine how his captain is cringing the more he hears of his manager painting him and his team mates as some sort of snowflakes who get spooked by loud noises from supporters.

Not near that maybe 50, I sit directly across. There was about 15 early on and about maybe another 30 turned up about 20 minutes into match.

About 200 people saw the greatest game in the history of football in Finn Park tonight.

384 at Bray which will bring the average for this round down. From pictures it seems there were empty seats in the new stand in the Brandywell, but I say it was close to a full-house. Any figure for Waterford?

That's a fantastic crowd for Waterford. Looking forward to our game there in a few weeks time.

Didn't think there was that many, not a bad crowd for us on a Monday, Dundalk is one of our biggest crowds of the season these days, shame it was on a Monday, decent enough Dundalk crowd.
