    Thought the same myself.

But in fairness their population is less than 13000, so even if 10% of the town came to the ground (which is almost unheard of) they'd only have 1300.
Cobh is just to small to realistically ever have decent attendances.

In fairness to dalk, the heat in Cobh can be something terrible at times. It once hit 20' degees I'm told..

Maybe, officially. In reality, I think it's agreed between the clubs, the FAI and TV channel.

The final was meant to be 15th September. Institute are playing in the Brandywell that day.

It's been announced that the final is now 16th.

You can draw conclusions from that, I'd guess.

Are Tute playing all their home games in the Brandywell?, I seem to remember they had an issue with flooding.

Yep. They'll never go back to Riverside, it seems.

    The Cobh goal is here.

Don't see much of the ground, but looks a bigger crowd than usual in the terrace anyway.

Some city fans there said 800ish, which is multiples of their normal crowd in fairness.

Still a bit of anamosity towards the club but hopefully this puts the hard work of the players and management into light....

Anyone have an idea on when the venue will be decided?

There's a disconnect between the club and the locals, many have started following Cobh wanderers instead. Loads of mistakes along the way and people in charge that have annoyed people.

For years the club was viewed as clanish and when it went bust a lot of people got satisfaction from it. It still has not gained back the support but a national final should help.
Wanderers will always have support as most are local players which is important in a small town.

I was at the game in 07 when Cobh Ramblers brought down a serious crowd to Athlone for their promotion party. It was from end of 08 onwards that things badly went wrong for them. Delighted for Stephen Henderson and Cobh. I have no problems with them at all as they treated us well on our last visit a few months ago.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

What a shame. In a town as tiny as Cobh you haven't a hope of reaching your potential if that type of nonsense is going on. With the whole town right behind the team you've got a chance, and even then it can be a real struggle at times. Look at Sligo - a town of only 20k or so but they've a great connection with the local community and they still struggle sometimes.

Would have said the crowd was around 1100 myself, though the atmosphere was like the real old days.
The other posters are spot on about the disconnect there but to be honest a lot of the crap that went on was 10 years ago or longer. It is true that the club has lost a generation of fans but on the other hand so called football people in the town are knocking the club no matter what they do. I hope that we can build on this now on and off the pitch.

Agreed..... The sun is reporting that by end of week the venue and time should be known. Derry have the new ground so I'd imagine would be favourites for aesthetic reasons but you never know. Would love a two leg affair myself. Should Rams get to host it I'd imagine it would come close to selling out.

read in paper today in sun that derry has the most seats out of the two grounds but cobh has the bigger capacity!
