Also in Brandywell news today Derry want to immediately put in a behind the goal (away end side) covered terrace.

This article is from summer but I can't find any updates on it. Standing in the UEFA conference league would be huge for LOI clubs, especially clubs like Derry and Pats who need to maximise space
oh boy I'm not good at football forums

Would the limited points of access/exit to Richmond Park still not present an issue for capacity, standing or otherwise ?

Presumably that would mean 'safe standing' sections, as opposed to the classic open terrace.

I see United Park is going to be named after a pub for this season. Interesting choice given the moral high ground that Drogheda, and it’s very vocal former chairman, have taken in the last few years.

If t was literally an alcohol sponsor - like a beer brand or an off-license chain - then I'd agree. But pubs are a different animal IMO. They don't just sell alcohol, and are often important neighbourhood facilities.

Also - there are LOI clubs who sell alcohol/operate bars themselves, but I'm not aware of any who run gambling companies ?

I don't disagree with any of that.

Sounds like common sense to me. It’s all gone too PC in Ireland these days. People like pubs that why they are in every community in the country.

Yeah no reason to shame them for this....By God I wish people would just call it United Park though!

I don't know how much it cost but it is certainly something other clubs should look at to boost attendances. It will help create a good atmosphere.

For anyone with an Independent.ie account, some photos of the final touches being added to Mounthawk Park:

The main takeaway is that work on the terracing means that there may be additional capacity, but an engineering report will determine the final figure.

Away terrace will be 450 people and will have a roof.

It will also open the full Des Kelly to Bohs fans which will mean the entire capacity of Dalyer will go from about 3.5k to 4.5k this year. I'd be targeting an average of above 3.5k tbh

That'll be a good capacity for Bohs - probably the biggest in the league after Rovers, Cork and Pats ? Will be interesting to see what demand is like over the season.

If it holds circa 450 - 500 then Pats, Shels, Rovers, Derry, Cork and Dundalk should fill it. It will be a good indicator for the capacity of the new stadium as to whether it will be big enough.

Well Pates brought a lot more than 450 to Dalymount last year , so a lot of Pats fans will miss out this year

I doubt that will worry Bohs much if they'll have much larger capaxcity and more of their own fans at such games.
