Jesus, I know they didn't take their place in the First Division and all, but, that's a fair distance to travel to rebel against the FAI.

Ideal scenario now is sack Kenny and replace him with the great one (with a 3 year contract obviously). Smiles all round.

    Jere apologises to Connor

    Henry Mhara,Sports Reporter | 2012-09-13 08:36:00

Caps United co-owner Farai Jere has apologised to Sean Connor after “realising” that the Northern Irishman had no fault in the team’s poor showing.
Jere blamed some senior players for sabotage.

The Irishman and his entire technical staff which included assistant Lloyd Chitembwe were shown the exit door in August after posting four losses in a row.

Taurai Mangwiro and Mkhuphali Masuku were appointed as coach and assistant respectively.

After watching Caps scrap past Hardbody on Tuesday Jere said: “We have realised that the problems at Caps have got nothing to do with the coaches, but the players themselves. These players are not serious at all. I want to apologise to all the coaches we have fired.”

Three players, Edmore Sibanda, Nyasha Mukumbi and Marvel Samaneka have already been sacked as part of a purge of players accused of causing dressing room disharmony.

The latest win was Caps United’s first in 10 attempts to steer the struggling team out of the relegation zone. The Green Machine are on 11th position with 23 points, the same number as Black Mambas who sit just above the relegation cut-off point.

“We will not be relegated this season,” vowed Jere.
Moses Chunga continues to sing the blues at Gunners since joining the club two weeks ago.
Following a 4-0 hiding at the hands of Dynamos on his return, Bambo’s team was humbled 1-0 at home by Buffaloes.

Basement side Quelaton’s woes continued as they were hammered 4-0 by FC Platinum, their 16th defeat of the season.

They have six points from 21 matches, and unless a miracle happens in the remaining matches, they will be playing Division One football next season.

    Sean coining it in Again.

    http://www.newzimbabwe.com/sports-9606-CAPS+United+to+pay+Connor+$90k/sports.asp

    Link wont work so

CAPS United must pay their former coach Sean Connor US$90,000 for unlawfully terminating his contract.
The Irish coach referred his dispute with the Harare club to arbitration following his sacking in August.

Connor had a contract for $4,000 a month in basic pay and a winning bonus of $400 per game which was to be reviewed in January.
He had demanded US$122,000 from United to leave quietly, but the club had only offered just $15,000, leading the matter to arbitration.
A judgement of the Commercial Arbitration Centre released on Tuesday said: “In terms of the law, Connor was on a fixed term contract of two years with the provision that this contract would be renewed after twelve months.
“Such a contract... provides that the relevant notice period for a two-year fixed term contract shall be three months. In this regard, the 30-day notice clause in the claimant’s contract fails to meet the minimum requirements of the law.
“I find it curious that this clause could have found place in any contract of employment.
“No-one has a right under the contract of employment to terminate a contract ‘without just cause’. The point argued by CAPS United is that Connor entered into a performance-related contract and therefore agreed to be terminated in the manner he was.
“I disagree with that contention. The contract of employment is clear in that it gave the respondent the power to review the contract after 12 months. Even if such a review had been carried out, which I have already found out was never carried out, such a review would have been against the letter and spirit of the contract of employment.”
Connor’s claims for a motor vehicle allowance and signing on fees for 2013 were dismissed.
The arbitrator said: “I uphold the all the claimed items as listed except the motor vehicle allowances and the signing on fee for 2013. The claim on the motor vehicle is based on speculation while that on the signing on fees is disallowed for the simple reason that I believe one is only entitled to the payment of this allowance at the commencement of the employment relationship.
“In the result, Connor’s remaining legitimate claims against the respondent arising from breach of contract amount to UDS$99,640.

“Therefore CAPS United should pay to Sean Connor the amount of US$90,640 being compensation for breach of contract.”

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Chacha! Brilliant. I like how his agent calls him a bitter man without seeing the other connotations of that statement.

I know times are hard but to turn to destitution..seriously? I mean who'd even pay him to do that? What would his mother think?
