They'very little space to work with tbh. The tent end is right up against the road. The opposite side is right up against DART land. Removing the hill from behind the town end goal has created some space, but not a lot. And I guess the pitch behind the other end is used in training, in which case you can't build on it. There's also a car park which makes money, so not much point removing that really.

There's not really room at any side for a proper covered stand (bearing in mind a proper roof would need bigger supports which would take seating space away)

Is there any sites for a stadium in the dun laoghaire rathdown county council area. They might want a pet project like SDCC with Tallaght stadium.

They don't need to do a whole lot with Carlisle Grounds anyway. It's far from the worst ground in the league. Half decent toilet blocks, and some form of a roof on the open side and they're grand with what they have.

One of the best locations for a ground in the entire league.

I always thought it was a missed opportunity by Cabo to not include some reference to the borough of Dun Laoghaire in their name. Over 200K people live in the borough so they should really be trying to tap into that if they've any sense. They could have named themselves Cabinteely Borough FC or something similar. Most other clubs could only dream of having such a population on their doorstep. Maybe they'll use the merger as a way to expand their base. Anybody for...
    Borough Wanderers FC ?
    Borough & Bray Wanderers ?

In the spirit of clubs like Brighton and Hove Albion, I'd expect something like Bray and Cabinteely Wanderers.

I have never heard anyone from that area refer to it as the borough. I would find that name change baffling without your context above.

So I'm not clear on what this means exactly but assuming that Bray are the surviving club that means Cabinteely leave the league with an unbeaten record against Cork City.

Cabinteely sold the LOI section of the club to Richardson (the new Chairman of the merged entity) only in the last few months for a pittance as it was costing them money and the priority in Cabo has always been the Community teams not just the Elite.
Makes sense to try to keep the Bray supporters and their cash on side so i expect a Bray/Cabo first year name , give people time to get used to the idea and then rebrand as Dublin South FC or something like that
As ever, a shining light in the fog Sbgawa.

So Cabinteely, the biggest schoolboy club in the country, sell off the loss-making "Cabinteely Senior FC" (I assume 'Cabo' remain 'Cabo' in schoolboys/girls football?) who in turn buy out Bray and 'merge'. So there's likely going to be a name change - which will probably annoy a few Bray loyalists given the lack of consultation with the fans - and there's no schoolboy revenue coming in from the cabinteely side of the merge (and no fans either but that's taken as given).

Maybe the finance person at Bray isn't as clever as I made out earlier.

Beautiful. That rings a Bell for sure. Would there be a need to call in the Sheriff?

    I think a new name something like ;

Devo’s Pocket Liners FC would be more appropriate

If your man from Cabo is now the majority shareholder, is Devlin the only other remaining shareholder?

Can Cabinteely and Bray agree that the Dublin mountains are not mountains but hills?! The North Wicklow area going over the border into Dublin is a nice part of the country to be fair.
On the football side of things, is there a realistic contender outside of a Shamrock Rovers II to take up the position available in the First Division? Ideally any new club joining the league will already being showing an expression of interest on the park through the youth leagues. The youth leagues should be the pathway for those with LoI ambitions.

Would imagine the FAI would welcome a Kerry DL team, if they ever did decide to go senior, the problem being that the junior season runs Sep-May, so the likes of Killarney Celtic, Castleisland and Listowel would be reluctant to contribute players as a consequence.

Metro Wanderers FC? Dublin Bay FC?

I'd put money on the club changing it's name back to Bray in a few years, it's not like the Cabo ultras will riot if they don't get their representation
oh boy I'm not good at football forums

I think an intermediary league between the youth leagues and League of Ireland is the solution to allow reserve LoI teams and non LoI entities to compete. That would be a good level for a Kerry DL team.
I don't think any club in Kerry is prepared to enter the league. An intermediary league can afford non LoI entities the possibility of forming a club if that becomes their natural evolution over time.

Bray Wanderers Incorporating Cabinteely FC has LoI precedent on its side...
