Yellow dummy, and a close call in the second tie but the Bonner beats the nips (getting close to x-rated territory on this one).

5-3 for Randolph over the dummy, so into the last 8 it goes.

Packie v Gerry open for votes, and the last of the third round ties sees the last Shay Given kit go up against the last Nicky Colgan kit

Colgan's is really a classic, solid goalkeeper's kit for me. Given's is an ugly eyesore mess rooted in insanity.

So that's one vote for Given from me please.

Given for embracing the tradition of garish design.

    Peyton and Colgan.

I really think we've been fortunate
and lucky compared to some other countries
    mainly american with our kits.

I don't know how anyone could
    give a vote to Packie's
    gear in that tie when
    you consider the unusual
    simplicity of the peyton kit
and the unique for the time anyway
notion of putting a Republic keeper in orange
    gear in that era.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!

6-3 for Packie's 94 kit, despite a late rally for Gerry Peyton.

That just leaves Given v Colgan as the last tie open of the round, and the first of the quarter finals then will go up in the morning.

    Colgan. Given's is a monstrosity of a painter's smock, much less a goalkeeper's jersey.

    Heretic!

If this one goes to a tie, that Given jersey is getting my unashamed number 1 vote. Goalkeepers should be different and a little bit crazy, and the Given jersey sums that up far better than the Colgan one.

  18. Thanks From:

It says FAI in big friendly letters, but that's more likely to panic our defenders than the other team.

The Colgan one doesn't tell the full story. The back of it has a dark grey and light grey snakeskin effect which can be slightly seen in the sleeve there
Folding my way into the big money!!!

    You!

This, it turns out, was the casting vote to put Colgan through 5-4 and eliminate our contribution to 90s madness.

    Not happy!

So we have our final eight, and the quarters will get underway tomorrow with two 80s kits, two 90s kits, one 00s kit and two 10s kits and a 20s kit.
