Was just thinking this earlier, Is filming complete?.
If not they would have to re-shoot the whole film?

Dark Knight is in post production and set for release in the summer. I'm just wondering how Warner Bros are going to handle the marketing now. Are they going to pull all the ad's/trailers? Stick with the original release date?

I feel awfully sad thinking about his little girl growing up without her father...

On a happier note: Colin Farrell's new film was opening the Sundance Festival. I watched the trailer and it looks pretty good. "In Bruges" it's called, check it out.

On the Oliver Reed thing, I was of the understanding that they had to change the ending somewhat because of his death as apparently his character was meant to survive to the end of the film.

Not quite.

Reed was meant to have some exit dialogue during the escape scene which was originally to feature about 3/4 way through the finished movie. This dialogue would intimate that he was going to high tail it out of there, look after himself, and that Maximus was on his own, as Reed's character wasn't going to stick around for the carnage to follow.

After Reed's death, Scott couldn't film the scene despite the advances in technology available to him, and as he said himself , it worked out better using the near-silent CG footage , as the dimly lit reaction shots gave the Proximo character a more noble end, in light of Reed's tragic passing, but aside from some that slight restructuring (using already-shot footage and manipulated CG shots) no further adjustment to the script was required.

Don't know if anyone mentioned Remember the Titans, He got Game or the Hurricane(kinda a sports movie but more a story)

Three of the best films ive seen in the past year were ''Deja Vu'', ''American Gangster'' and his newest film ''The Great Debaters''. I dont think the last one is getting a cinematic release here as i watched it online a number of weeks ago and still havent seen any sign of it since.

Also all the films you mentioned are amazing although i have'nt seen ''Man on Fire'' ive heard good things about it

Really looking forward to watching ''Cloverfield'', anyone who went to the Transformers would have seen the 3/4 minute clip, That left you on the edge of your seat wondering ''What the hell just happened''. Amazing form of advertisment, not even a name was given to the film until recently!!

Daniel Day Lewis for me. Incredible actor. Everything I've seen him in he's completely different. You wouldn't think it was the same person in My Left Foot and Gangs of New York for instance.

I watched half of 2 days in Paris last night and I am not so inspired to watch the second half, is it worth the effort?

Bearing in mind that it has only been out in the last 3 months in the U.S. , a limited release in the UK or Ireland would be the best we could expect in the next few months.

Watched "The Miracle of Berne" last night on RTE2.It was a light hearted look at the 1954 WC victory by the Germans who beat the then wizards of world football Hungary in the final.Good wee film which apparantly won a few awards.It recreated a real sense of time and place which imo a lot of films struggle to do.Switched over from Remember the titans starring our mate Denzel which was looking way too predictable.
BTW re:Tom Hanks I thought Catch me if you can was very enetertaining and a little underestimated.

I'd say a lot more people would have trouble associating him with those two MOTION films aswell, I go the cinema a good bit and watch a lot of films, and wouldnt have been able to name him in them.
As for the animated films, i'd hardly still call him on top of his game for that.

What differs the likes of himself and a few others from the bunch is the performance he gives through visual impact. That isnt visable is an animated film so i wouldnt count them!.
Can you class the actress who does Marge Simpsons voice a great actor?, after all i think she is the one who has never done any work bar voice acting. All in all its an art in its own but would'nt let someone hold the greatest actor accolade as there not actually featuring!!

Road to Perdition is a great flick, Newman was fantastic in it. I liked the terminal too, suprising too because i usually dont like that kind of movie!
De Niro and Pacino are simply greats. I really enjoyed "this boys life", not that well known but great performances from de niro,di caprio and ellen barkin!Once upon a time in america, raging bull and taxi driver were excellent also. Wasnt impressed with hide n seek though.
Pacino is just great in every role iv seen him! The devils advocate, any given sunday, scarface and the godfathers my favourites.
