I don't think most of the underage managers furnish match reports to the website, apart from KG with his team.

Saw both sides this year and will be evenly matched. But if Utd play DH, JMcL & DS the league should be Westports, it might make up for the loss to Celtic in the AIB cup final but I don't think so.

    Gents,

apologies this is slightly off topic but it does relate to Westport and Football! Myself and about 10 friends are going down for a weekend in a couple of weeks time and we are trying to look for a pitch so we can play a game of 5 or 6 a side amongst ourselves - sweat out the beers.

I am pretty sure there is no astroturf pitches in Westport (closest is castlebar I believe) but is there any 5 / 6 side pitchs that are available to rent for an hour?

A friend of mine showed me a map that said six a side pitch kind of below the harbour area - Any help greatly appreciated?

    Thanks
    Michael

How long has Alex Ferguson been in charge of Man United? How successful is he?
correct me if im wrong but the great sir alex didnt take breaks for a rest or when the going got tough.im well aware of pb,s problems and he cant possibly give100% to the soccer.i wouldnt expect him to.kc has done a runner from our gaa team because things got too tough.boc was the worst coach in westport since paul bourke but he even won the double with this team.this current group of players are the best in utd history anyone could win trophys with them.as for the board they dont do away games no monies in it for them.never mind the fact none of them played the game.

As far as I'm aware, AK played in the local leagues in the 1950's, DL played in Dublin, for Claremorris (and once got a hat trick against WUFC at the ripe old age of 40) and the B team, and FG played for Glasnevin FC during the 1980's.

There is McConville Park, which is closer to town, at the back of an old housing estate beside the Leenane Road.

QH, Yes anyone could have managed this group of players to win the Mayo League but this is not good enough anymore for Celtic or Utd, the real question is, can this group of players get back to the level they were at in 2005 and what I have seen this year I can not see it, maybe the dream team will be able to do it. I was surprised that kc left the GAA after getting them demoated out of Senior football, I would say a lot of unhappy GAA folk in Westport, that can't be a bad thing can it? As for your silly point of having to be footballer to run a club is madness. What is required is a mix of people from various back grounds.

Town Council own it. It is one seven a side grass pitch with a clubhouse that is closed, only used for a playgroup these days. No floodlights.

It is largely unused and most people never ask. Might be no harm as a gesture to inform Brendan Mulroy. I don't have a phone number for him but if you correspond through Westport Civic Offices, Altamont Street, Westport, I'm sure he will help you.

If there was any truth in the ramblings of his job. Then he would have a case for unfair dismissal, I don't think any employer would like to go down that road.

Now look who is rambling now. Are you trying to tell us that the Westport job is full time, I doubt this to be the case. All these football jobs are on a part time basics with expenses, I doubt Westport is any differant.

qh please stop.this is getting mad.these threads are great fun but some are crossing the line to insult people a lot of it is hurtfull.ive had things said about me this week and its not nice.we can all have a bit off rowling without this messing.pb and kc are friends of mine and it was an honour to come 2nd to them in interviews.they are class coaches and be honest the correct appointments records prove it.the com. threated me with nothing but respect during interviews at the end of the day none off them are getting paid.cs keep up the rowling your what makes the site entertaining.
