Well - like most EL fans I'm annoyed at what is happening to Rovers over this, and it's the only opportunity I have to do anything or say anything about it. So fot hat alone, I value this poll.
I don't care how insignificant you think such a poll is - it still exists. The more skirmishes and battles you win, the more chance you have of winning the war. Simple as.
just voted no and it now stands
Yes - 38.4%
No - 61.6%
just voted will pass on info to other sports fans
I wish i did not know then what I dont know now
I also love the way TD's have "banned" Conor Lenihan from their clubhouse for the position he's taken.
Old habits die hard.
Inclusive organisation my hole......
It doesn't specify what level of GAA matches. What way do all the Rovers officials who keep stating their hearts' desire to see underage GAA matches played there vote?
Could it be that a poll in the effing Herald is not the best way to decide this?![]()
And he only found out he was banned while attending a function in TD's clubhouse to announce €200,000 in grant aid for them.![]()
This was exactly the hypocrisy, arrogance and disdain towards democracy that we wanted to highlight by getting the TD memo into the public domain.

Rovers leaving themselves open to "sure why would you have objections, you've no fecking say in who uses the stadium anyway" type response there...Originally Posted by Shamrock PR

I don't think making this an election favours Rovers as it just ensures it will drag on for longer which only benefits Thomas Davis. Now that the GAA heirarchy are supporting this is means all the GAA are Bas****s.
If Rovers want good PR they should concentrate on the pitch size issue especially with memory of the Croke Park football international fresh. Rovers should stress that they don't object to GAA games that can be played on football(soccer) size pitch as it will completely undermine the GAA. Rovers could also mention that the pitch may not be able to take many more than 40 games a year as its a current topic with Croke Park due to only a few football & rugby games been played there.

It shows that we are not against GAA games being played there, just the delaying tactic used by TD
Making it an election issue plays into our hands imo, FF "should" be returned to power and are they going to give TD there way
if they are back in government?

Bohs are going bust.
Didn't some bigwig on the Dublin County Board come out with something about the need for a new (i.e. built from scratch i.e. not in Tallaght) govt-funded GAA stadium for south Dublin some time in the last week? Think it was either in last Saturday's I.Times or the previous Sunday's Tribune.
If so, it'd appear the bogballers are preparing their exit strategy already - no need for GAA in Rovers' stadiium if Thomas Davis have their own club ground around the corner and Dublin Co. Board have a separate ground for non-Croke Park matches.
Revenge for 2002
Voted no and it is now 40% - 60%.
The Croke Park example may be slightly misleading though as that is quite a large GAA pitch. Minimum adult pitch size is 130m x 80m.
How big is the Tallaght pitch under the existing plans?
Also, how much money are SRFC putting into the development and have Thomas Davis made any comment about matching this or coming up with extra funds to pay for changes to accomodate a larger pitch?

I've seen some pointless polls in my life but.........
FF are standing for common sense on this matter, Labour have always been pro Rovers on the Tallaght issue but a vote for them is a vote for FG/Rainbow Coalition, FG - well they would be gaa to the core so theres no point in asking them, in my constituency 2 of the 3 FG candidates are staunch gaa men one of them even started the gaa interference in tallaght. i would be doubtful fg would give their support.
I think there something in Mondays Herald and Dublin County Board confirmed that GAA HQ are going ahead with a 20,000 seater stadium at Abbotstown??? Adamstown?? not 100% on the location, just read it in passing...
